Job Description
Capital Projects Program Manager
Role
We are seeking a Capital Projects Program Manager to lead our portfolio of facility, infrastructure, and manufacturing-equipment investments. You will connect company strategy to execution by setting priorities, coordinating cross-functional teams, and managing program scope, budget, schedule, dependencies, and risk.
Projects may include laboratories, pilot lines, production equipment, utilities, dry rooms, and manufacturing facilities. This is a hands-on role for someone who can create structure without slowing down a fast-moving organization and is comfortable in a startup environment.
Responsibilities
Build and manage an integrated roadmap for the company’s capital projects.
Align investments with technical milestones, operating plans, funding constraints, and commercialization goals.
Coordinate engineering, operations, R&D, EHS, quality, finance, supply chain, and external partners.
Establish practical program governance, reporting, stage gates, and change-control processes.
Manage program budgets, forecasts, schedules, dependencies, resource conflicts, and risks.
Develop business cases and decision materials for major investments.
Support projects from feasibility and design through procurement, construction, commissioning, and operational handover.
Provide leadership with clear, timely visibility into progress, tradeoffs, risks, and required decisions.
Build repeatable capital-program tools and processes that support future growth.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
8+ years managing complex technical programs or industrial capital projects.
Experience coordinating multiple projects with shared resources and dependencies.
Strong command of budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, risk management, and executive reporting.
Experience supporting early stage projects through design, procurement, installation or construction, commissioning, and startup.
Ability to operate effectively in ambiguity and adapt as priorities evolve.
Strong communication and influence across technical teams, executives, vendors, and contractors.
Willingness to work on-site and travel as needed.
Additional Qualifications
Experience in batteries, chemicals, advanced materials, energy storage, semiconductors, automotive, or complex manufacturing.
Experience with pilot, first-of-a-kind, or scale-up programs.
Familiarity with dry rooms, process utilities, controlled environments, hazardous materials, or process safety.
Experience building a capital-project or program-management function at a growing company.
PMP, PgMP, PE, CCM, or a similar credential.
