Job Description
About SiPhox Health
SiPhox Health is building the leading home testing platform for biomarkers across inflammation, hormones, and metabolic and cardiovascular health. Six in ten Americans live with a chronic disease, and our mission is to make early detection possible from home.
We operate two business lines, both scaling quickly:
- Mail-in blood testing: Growing more than 50% quarter over quarter, and the most comprehensive and highly rated at-home blood testing available today.
- At-home blood testing device: Planned launch in 2027. Our chip-based module combines biochemistry with integrated photonics, electronics, and microfluidics, protected by more than 50 patents.
SiPhox is an MIT startup backed by Tier I investors including Y Combinator, Khosla Ventures, and Intel Capital.
The Role
This is not a process-maintenance role. It is a role defined by urgency, ownership, and consequence.
We ship a physical product to customers' homes. It is filled with their blood, processed by laboratories under regulatory scrutiny, and returned as a result on which they will base real health decisions. When any link in that chain fails (a delayed shipment, a missed laboratory turnaround, a defective batch of kits), resolving it is your responsibility, and anticipating it is your mandate.
We are looking for someone who takes ownership of outcomes rather than processes, who moves decisively under pressure, and who is willing to implement a practical solution now rather than wait for a perfect one later. Candidates who require a fully mature organization, established handoffs, and a documented procedure for every situation will not find that here. The ideal candidate is prepared to build those systems while the operation runs at full speed.
Areas of Ownership
Logistics and Fulfillment
- Own the end-to-end delivery of kits to customers — on time and fully tracked — and understand the cause of any failure before the customer raises it.
- Hold laboratory partners to on-time, in-spec processing within all regulatory requirements.
- Manage inventory and supply chain proactively, identifying shortages weeks in advance rather than at the point of depletion.
Customer Experience
- Treat customer support as the front line of the business, equipping agents with the tools, guidance, and authority to resolve issues quickly.
- Ensure replacements and troubleshooting are prompt and clearly communicated, so customers never have to follow up.
Quality and Compliance
- Guarantee that results are accurate and delivered on time; this standard is non-negotiable given the decisions customers make on them.
- Ensure every process meets regulatory and internal standards, with compliance designed into operations rather than added afterward.
Process and Metrics
- Instrument the operation with clear metrics — delivery times, laboratory turnaround, customer satisfaction, and cost per kit — to make performance visible and actionable.
- Continuously identify and eliminate bottlenecks, improving efficiency and scalability as an ongoing discipline.
Vendors and Partners
- Own relationships with shipping, fulfillment, and laboratory partners, holding them to their commitments and replacing them when they fall short.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing to secure the best possible terms and service.
Team and Collaboration
- Develop the support team through training, feedback, and clear guidance so they consistently deliver high-quality service.
- Collaborate across marketing, product, and R&D to ensure operations scale in step with the rest of the business.
Qualifications
- 3+ years in operations, logistics, or supply chain management, ideally in a physical, regulated, and fast-moving environment such as healthcare, biotech, hardware, or high-growth direct-to-consumer.
- Demonstrated experience managing third-party vendors, laboratories, and logistics partners to a high standard of performance.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt as priorities and conditions change rapidly.
- Excellent communication skills and a track record of moving cross-functional teams without relying on formal authority.
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance standards in healthcare or laboratory settings, or the ability to master them quickly.
- Bachelor's degree in operations management, business, or a related field, or an equivalent record of accomplishment.
Personal Characteristics
- Bias toward action — decisive under uncertainty, and comfortable correcting course as new information emerges.
- Extreme ownership — accountable for outcomes across functional boundaries.
- Composure under pressure — steady and effective when systems are strained.
- Rigorous attention to detail — committed to getting it right the first time, given the consequences of an inaccurate result.
- Low ego and high standards — willing to do unglamorous work while holding the bar high.
Compensation and Benefits
- Stock options, and meaningful equity in a company solving a problem that matters.
