Job Description
About Robby (YC W26)
Robby is building the AI sales platform for home service technicians.
Technicians are the foundation of this $650B industry, but use software that was built for managers in an office, not the revenue-earners in the field. AI adoption has exploded in the back office (Avoca (YC) @ $1B+, Probook @ $150M+, Broccoli (YC) @ undisclosed), but not yet been built to simplify the technician’s experience or amplify their output - until now.
With Robby, technicians can focus on what they enjoy - diagnosing issues and fixing equipment - while our AI makes it simple for them to sell more equipment, do more jobs, and spend less time on menial admin.
The opportunity is massive. For the last few months, the founders have been quietly selling to some of the biggest companies in the country, and Robby is in pole position to win. We need talented people to help us meet demand and scale.
We’ve raised from several notable VCs, including Robinhood Ventures, Benchstrength VC, Amino Capital, and others. We’re well capitalized with multiple years of runway and multiple paying customers. The founders have many years of experience across high-growth startups and organizations like Porter, Ironclad, Affinity, Bain, Amazon, and Uber.
Role
Robby is hiring a Founding Engineer to help us improve and deploy our core product for large home services companies.
Our first product is live with some of the largest contractors across the country. Your job will be to implement customer feedback, build out new features and help with deployments. As we expand to new product lines (coming soon), you will own development of those products with our CTO (ex-Amazon / Harvard, YC backed engineer x2). This is our first hire outside the founders so you will work very closely with us and have a strong say in how we scale the business. You should not take this job if you expect someone to tell you what to do; we encourage everyone to adopt the founder mindset and shape the direction of the company.
Responsibilities
- Build full-stack products from 0-1
- Speak to technicians and business owners regularly to gather product feedback
- Deploy the product live with customers and users, in-person if required
What we look for

- High AI fluency and experience with the latest tools
- Strong communication skills, especially with non-technical people
- High agency and urgency to get stuff done
- Growth mindset
- Comfort with 0-1, high ambiguity environments
- Previous or future founders
- Ability to roll up sleeves and solve whatever problem is highest priority for the business
Nice-to-haves
- A personal background or family history in the trades
- A passion for UI/UX
- Mobile dev experience (Swift / Flutter)
First 30/60/90 days
- In 30 days, you will ship new features for customers, help train users on the features and collect their feedback
- In 60 days, you will scope out and own the design, build, and rollout of new products for customers
- In 90 days, you will own the improvement and impact of the products and features you build for customers
Example technical challenges
- Incorporating high quality AI features in offline systems
- Architecting high-volume and low latency data pipelines across multiple data sources
- Designing highly flexible software systems to handle the level of customization we supply to customers

About Robby
Robby is an AI growth engine for home services businesses that uncovers revenue opportunities and collects additional data from every technician visit. Our AI combines customer and third party data to generate dozens of new leads every day, and then arms the technicians with talking points to increase close rates, giving GMs a single command center to manage and drive revenue. We have several paying customers that are each uncovering 6 figures in additional revenue opportunities every week. On our first day of launch, we helped close $40k in new business within an hour. Our team has spent the last few months riding along with dozens of technicians and shadowing every position in the office to best understand the industry. We're also studying for the EPA 608 exam to become certified technicians ourselves. Vineet and Feroze have both built critical products and infra at prominent startups (Ironclad, Porter, Affinity, Uber, Cloud Health Systems). Joe previously consulted PE firms on software acquisitions and led home services growth projects at Bain. We all met at Harvard Business School, and dropped out to work on Robby full-time.
