Senior Pre-Sales Systems Engineer (Nordic region)
Job Description
Qumulo's cloud data platform manages exabytes of the world's most demanding data, unifying files, objects, and every workload across edge, core, and cloud.
About the Senior Pre-Sales Systems Engineer role
As our Senior Pre-Sales Systems Engineer for the Nordics and Netherlands, you'll own the technical side of a dual-market territory. In the Nordics, that means architecting high-density AI and HPC scale-outs for green data centers. In the Netherlands, it means solving hybrid-cloud, edge, and low-latency gateway problems for a dense, connectivity-rich market. You'll be the technical advisor customers lean on before they buy.
You're a technologist who can explain scale-out storage to a C-level audience in plain language, and you like getting hands-on in Proof of Concepts. You'll work closely with sales and our OEM partners, and you'll have real influence over how Qumulo wins across the region.
As a Senior Pre-Sales Systems Engineer at Qumulo, you will:
Partner with sales to design and deliver unstructured data solutions tailored to Nordic and Dutch enterprise requirements
Work independently and alongside OEM storage specialists (Cisco, Arrow, etc.) to qualify and advance opportunities across the territory
Lead technical deep-dives, whiteboarding sessions, and solution designs covering cross-border data replication, hybrid-cloud bursting, and multi-protocol file access
Run Proof of Concept deployments on-premises and in the public cloud to work through technical objections
Build technical proposals and RFP responses covering Qumulo's architecture, data protection, and performance at scale
Drive whitespace reviews, account mapping, and business planning to sharpen regional forecast accuracy and respectfully pressure-test customer technical direction
Track regional trends, from localized AI training clusters to EU sovereign cloud mandates, and contribute to case studies and technical content
Our ideal Senior Pre-Sales Systems Engineer will have:
Fluency in Dutch and professional fluency in written and spoken English
5+ years in pre-sales systems engineering, including 3+ years focused on unstructured data, file, and object storage
Strong command of core operating systems (Windows, Linux, Unix/BSD) and file/object protocols (NFS, SMB, S3)
Hands-on public cloud experience (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) with cloud architect certifications as a plus
Working knowledge of the file and object storage market and its players (NetApp, Dell PowerScale/Isilon, Vast Data, EverPure, Ceph, Lustre, Scality, Weka, etc.)
Consultative, value-selling approach with a track record of taking enterprise deals from first pitch to technical champion alignment
Willingness to travel 30–40% across the Nordics and Netherlands for customer meetings, PoC setups, and partner events
Bonus points for: familiarity with the regional landscape, whether Nordic green/hyperscale data centers and high-density cooling (liquid, submerged, free-air) or the Dutch connectivity ecosystem (FLAP-D hubs, AMS-IX and other internet exchanges), experience delivering scale-out storage into Media & Entertainment (VFX), Life Sciences (genomics), Energy, or HPC/AI, plus awareness of EU data privacy and sovereign cloud requirements
Applicants must be located in, and have the right to work in, Denmark or Belgium. This role does not offer relocation or work-permit support.

About Qumulo
Modern enterprises have to manage exponentially-growing exabyte-scale data stores comprised mostly of unstructured data. Someone (often IT) has the difficult job of staying on top of managing these data stores, which becomes more difficult to do as enterprise datasets expand from the data center to the edge and cloud. And while scale and complexity are rising, budgets and staff are not. Existing solutions suffer from two crucial shortcomings: Complexity and platform lock-in. Legacy solutions are excruciatingly complex to deploy and manage. And nearly every solution restricts users to running in only the data center and on expensive, inflexible proprietary hardware platforms. Qumulo is the simple way to manage exabyte-scale data anywhere — edge, core, or cloud — on the platform of your choice. In a world with trillions of files and objects comprising 100+ zettabytes worldwide, companies need a solution that combines the ability to work anywhere with simplicity. This is precisely what Qumulo was founded to accomplish.
