Our clinics are open up to seven (7) days a week, and the role may require a flexible schedule, including weekdays, weeknights, and weekends. As this is a fully on-site position with a home base in the North Vancouver clinic. The ideal candidate will be within 45 minutes commuting distance to North Vancouver. Additionally, as needed, the MRI Tech Aide will need to cover shifts at the Vancouver site located at 39 Nelson St.

Location of primary clinic: 123 13th street E North Vancouver

Patient Care & Workflow Management

  • Patient Onboarding: Greet patients, verify their identity using two patient identifiers, and explain the MRI procedure to help reduce anxiety and claustrophobia.
  • Mobility Assistance: Assist with patient transfer between wheelchairs and the MRI table using proper ergonomics and MR-safe transfer equipment.
  • Workflow Optimization: Monitor the daily schedule, coordinate with patient liaison, and prep the next patient while the MRI technologist is scanning the current one to minimize scanner downtime.
  • Post-Exam Care: Escort patients out of the MRI department, provide discharge instructions (if applicable), and assist them with their belongings.

Clinical Support & Room Turnaround

  • Room Setup: Between patients, assist the MRI technologist in changing table linens, wiping down the MRI bore, and setting up the appropriate MR coils, positioning pads, and ear protection.
  • Infection Control: Assist MRI technologist with cleaning and disinfecting all patient contact surfaces, headphones, coils, and MR-safe wheelchairs/stretchers according to standard infection control protocols.

Administrative & Clerical Tasks

  • Supply Management: Monitor and restock medical supplies, linens, and screening forms in the patient holding areas and control room.

  • Documentation: Scan completed paper safety screening and consent forms (when applicable) and participate in time-out procedure.
  • CDs/Records Requests: Fulfill requests for patient imaging CDs by preparing and burning CDs, and process records requests in accordance with standard operating procedures.

What You'll Bring

  • Experience: At least 2-5 years in customer service, preferably in a healthcare or related field.

  • Work Ethic: Punctual, dependable, and committed to excellence in medical and customer care.
  • Flexibility: Availability to work varied hours, including weekdays and weekends as needed.
  • Efficiency: Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment while addressing patient concerns with sensitivity and care.
  • Team Player: Works collaboratively while maintaining a pleasant and professional demeanor with patients and colleagues.
