Senior Product Manager, Patient Growth
Job Description
About us
Pomelo Care is the leading virtual medical practice for women and children, providing care across pregnancy, postpartum, pediatrics, menopause, and perimenopause. We combine proactive, 24/7 clinical care with technology that helps us reach patients earlier, identify risks sooner, and deliver personalized care throughout their journey. Our team includes clinicians, technologists, operators, and problem-solvers working together to make high-quality care more accessible for families nationwide.
Role Overview:
Your north star: Reach and enroll far more of the patients who need Pomelo, reinventing how patients discover and connect with a care model that measurably improves their maternal health outcomes.
The US has the highest maternal mortality rate in the developed world, and the burden falls hardest on the patients who can least afford it. Pomelo has already built and proven a care model that changes those outcomes, usually at no cost to patients. We are looking for a seasoned, entrepreneurial product manager to lead our Patient Growth team. Your job is to get our care model in front of as many of these patients as possible, and to keep those we reach connected to care.
You will work closely with a team of engineers, marketers, clinical operations staff, and data scientists to reinvent how Pomelo reaches and enrolls new patients and how we recover churned patients. If you are successful, you will make a material impact on maternity health outcomes in the US by scaling our practice to reach and improve more lives.
This role will report to our Principal Product Manager and this position is open to candidates located in the continental US.
What you'll do:
- Own full-funnel strategy: Define and execute the product strategy for patient acquisition, activation, and re-engagement, creating a predictable growth engine and sustainable month-over-month win-back motions.
- Unlock new growth channels: Invent and scale entirely new funnels to reach prospective patients, ensuring they clearly understand Pomelo's value and care model by the time they complete enrollment.
- Lead cross-functional delivery: Rally a team of engineers, marketers, clinical operations staff, and data scientists through rapid MVP iterations and bold product reimaginings.
- Partner with Marketing: Collaborate closely with Marketing to refine patient-facing messaging, finding the best ways to tell prospective patients about the value and impact of Pomelo.
- Experiment with applied AI & ops: Test innovative approaches, including applied AI and human operational processes, to reach, enroll, and keep patients connected to care more effectively.
- Drive data-informed insights: Dig into enrollment and engagement data, uncover hidden signals, establish core metrics, and act as the C-suite's go-to expert on top-of-funnel growth mechanics.
Who you are:
- 4+ years in consumer products with a proven track record owning full growth funnels end-to-end (acquisition, activation, conversion, and retention) for digital products.
- A full-funnel growth thinker, equally comfortable inventing new ways for people to find a product and engineering how they convert and stick.
- Fluent in data. You reach for the numbers before your instincts, run your own analysis instead of waiting on a dashboard, and know the difference between a metric that moved and a bet that worked.
- Thrive in ambiguity with a bias for action. A first-principles thinker who creates structure and clarity in a brand-new problem space and makes confident calls with incomplete information.
- A master of scrappy execution: you launch an MVP fast and iterate toward a bigger vision, rather than waiting for the perfect plan.
- Strong product and design sense, with a genuine passion for building consumer-grade experiences that people love.
- Exceptional communicator and collaborator who can rally a cross-functional team and manage stakeholders from the C-suite to the front lines of care.
- Energized by hard healthcare problems and building for underserved patient populations.
We'll be super excited if you:
- Experience with products that bridge digital experiences and human-delivered services, and/or products that are free for the end-consumer.
- Experience building products powered by LLMs or voice agents.
- Experience being held to revenue goals.
- Strong SQL skills.
- Experience in healthcare technology, particularly in outreach and acquisition.
- A background in product or lifecycle marketing.
Why you should join our team
By joining Pomelo, you will get in on the ground floor of a fast-moving, well-funded, and mission-driven startup that always puts the patient first. You will learn, grow and be challenged, and have fun with your team while doing it.
We strive to create an environment where employees from all backgrounds are respected. We value working across disciplines, moving fast, data-driven decision making, learning, and always putting the patient first.
Benefits and Perks:
- Comprehensive Health, Dental, and Vision coverage for employees and their families
- High deductible Health Plans with Health Savings Account (HSA) options
- Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
- Equity grant participation
- 401(k) program
- Competitive vacation policy
