Job Description
About Manifest
Manifest is on a mission to secure the global software and AI supply chain. Our platform automates the discovery and analysis of risks across internally built and third-party software and AI systems, giving security, product, and engineering teams complete visibility into the components and dependencies that make up their technology stack. From product security and AI risk to supplier risk and compliance, we help teams trust the software and AI they build and buy.
Founded by alumni from the Department of Defense, CISA, and Palantir, Manifest is backed by leading investors including Ensemble VC, First Round Capital, Homebrew, BoxGroup, XYZ Venture Capital, AE Ventures, Leap435, and Overmatch VC. The company partners with the US Air Force, DHS, Global 2000 companies, and critical infrastructure organizations across defense, automotive, and financial services to bring transparency, resilience, and trust to modern digital systems.
About the Role
As a Customer Success Engineer at Manifest Cyber, you will own the post-sale relationship for a portfolio of large enterprise and government customers, ensuring they realize measurable value from the Manifest platform from onboarding through renewal and expansion.
Reporting to the Head of Business Operations, you'll act as a trusted advisor on software supply chain security and AI risk, working closely with security, engineering, GRC, and procurement stakeholders at some of the most highly regulated organizations in the world. This role requires someone comfortable operating in technical conversations, navigating complex enterprise and federal customer environments, and translating customer needs into product and account strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Own onboarding, adoption, and renewal for a portfolio of large enterprise and government accounts, serving as the primary point of contact after the sale.
- Develop deep relationships with customer stakeholders across security, engineering, compliance/GRC, and procurement, and map their goals to Manifest's platform capabilities.
- Drive product adoption by helping customers configure code and dependency scanning tools in CI/CD pipelines, vulnerability management workflows, and third-party risk workflows that fit their environment.
- Monitor account health, proactively identify risk of churn or underutilization, and build action plans to address it.
- Partner with Sales on expansion opportunities and provide input on account strategy for your book of business.
- Serve as the voice of the customer internally, relaying feedback to Product and Engineering to influence the roadmap.
- Build and maintain customer-facing materials, including onboarding plans, business reviews, and success plans.
- Troubleshoot technical questions independently where possible, working with databases, APIs, and JSON-based data (including SBOM/AIBOM/CryptographyBOM formats like SPDX and CycloneDX), and looping in Engineering or Support when deeper investigation is needed.
- Use basic scripting to investigate data issues, validate integrations, or build lightweight reporting for customers.
- Apply frontier AI tools to work more efficiently, such as drafting customer communications, summarizing account activity, analyzing data, and researching customer environments.
- Travel periodically to meet with customers on-site, with particular focus on the greater Washington, D.C. area.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in a customer success, account management, or similar customer-facing role, ideally supporting large enterprise customers with complex, multi-stakeholder relationships.
- Experience supporting U.S. government customers, particularly within the federal civilian sector, including familiarity with how government agencies evaluate, procure, and operationalize software.
- Strong track record in cybersecurity and/or SaaS customer success, including driving adoption, managing renewals, and reducing churn.
- Technical skills:
- Comfort working with technical systems and data, including relational databases, REST APIs, and JSON schemas, with the ability to read and troubleshoot at a working technical level.
- Ability to write basic scripts (e.g., Python, shell, or similar) to investigate issues, automate small tasks, or support reporting.
- Familiarity with software supply chain security concepts, including Software Bills of Materials (SBOMs) and AI Bills of Materials (AIBOMs), and standards such as SPDX and CycloneDX.
- Comfort using frontier AI models (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, or similar) as part of daily workflow to troubleshoot integrations, fix poorly formatted BOMs, and improve efficiency and quality of work.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for both highly technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to travel periodically, especially to the greater Washington, D.C. area, to meet with customers in person.
- US Citizenship is required for this role.
Nice To Haves
- Active security clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain one.
- Experience with vulnerability management, GRC, or third-party risk management workflows.
