Location: This role will work onsite at our office located in Bothell, WA.
Travel: Minimal
Job ID: 1848
The Role:
This role bridges real-time production execution with near-term planning. The person in this role ensures work orders, transactions, and inventory data on the shop floor are accurate and timely, while also supporting production scheduling, capacity planning, and material availability for upcoming build cycles. It's a strong fit for someone who wants exposure to both the tactical (day-to-day floor execution) and strategic (planning/scheduling) sides of operations.
Responsibilities:
Work Order execution & lifecycle
- Track WOs through production status; own WO closure and de-issuance.
- Run the recurring (weekly) de-issuance triage cadence and keep the de-issuance rack within physical capacity
Material staging, kitting & point-of-use
- Execute kit pulls and physically stage material to the line
- Own kanban replenishment execution on the floor and point-of-use material management.
- Execute floor-level / one-off MOR material moves and manual adjustments, with the discipline to reduce the kanban/manual error rate flagged in the escalation.
Floor material service desk (internal customer)
- Serve as the single point of contact for "where's my part" so Test Engineers, Physicists, Engineers, and Techs stop pausing core work to chase material.
- Provide real-time material status to the floor and resolve or route floor material questions.
- Tactically expedite shorts that Planning has already identified and escalated.
WIP & physical inventory control on the floor
- Track WIP and maintain WIP accuracy across the line.
- Run point-of-use cycle counts and maintain inventory integrity between the warehouse and the floor.
- Identify and report physical/system discrepancies (a floor-level check that helps catch issues like premature -EXT migrations before deployment, even though the BOM fix itself is ME).
Escalation & cross-function interface
- Own the clear, documented escalation path for material-short WOs from the floor upward
- Feed real-time floor signals (consumption, shortages surfacing at build start) back to Planning so shortages stop being discovered too late.
- Interface with ME on the floor execution of engineering changes (DR/ECR/ECO), and with the warehouse on inbound/replenishment.
Coverage, documentation & continuous improvement
- Author and maintain SOPs for material execution on the floor (distinct from ME's process SOPs).
- Drive continuous improvement on floor material flow, rack space, and staging.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, production control, or supply chain operations.
- Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) — hands-on transaction experience preferred
- Comfort with Excel (pivot tables, lookups); exposure to Power BI/Tableau a plus
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy mindset
- Ability to work cross-functionally with production, procurement, and quality teams
- Comfortable working in a high paced environment; warehouse and office setting
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting regulated or high-value products
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Industrial Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- APICS/ASCM certification (CPIM) a plus, not required
