We are seeking an analytical, motivated, and pragmatic professional to join its Credit Team. The Credit Analyst will play an integral role across the investment lifecycle, from initial screening and underwriting through transaction execution and ongoing portfolio management. This Analyst will help evaluate and finance sustainable infrastructure projects and businesses across the sectors in which Generate invests, develops, owns, and operates. This position offers meaningful exposure to complex transactions, senior decision-makers, clients, counterparties, and the operational performance of Generate’s investments.
What you will be doing at Generate Capital as a Credit Analyst:
Evaluate new credit opportunities by analyzing business models, project economics, industry dynamics, capital structures, and key investment risks
Build, maintain, and take ownership of transaction financial models, including validating key assumptions and developing sensitivity and downside analyses
Conduct due diligence across financial, commercial, technical, legal, and operational workstreams
Prepare investment memoranda and presentations that clearly communicate key risks, mitigants, transaction terms, and investment recommendations to the Investment Committee
Complete internal credit risk ratings and assess whether proposed pricing, structure, covenants, and other protections appropriately reflect the identified risks
Support the structuring and execution of transactions, including drafting term sheets and coordinating diligence, documentation, approvals, and closing activities
Assist with the origination and initial screening of new credit opportunities
Monitor the financial and operating performance of portfolio investments, update risk assessments, and identify emerging issues or trends
Support ongoing portfolio activities, including loan fundings, amendments, waivers, consents, and other post-closing matters
Support the creation of new fund level materials, including marketing materials, investor relations, and ongoing compliance
Candidate qualifications & core characteristics:
1–3 years of relevant experience, preferably in investment banking, project finance, private credit, structured credit, infrastructure investing, or a related field
Strong financial modeling, accounting, and credit-analysis skills
Experience evaluating companies, projects, or transactions and identifying the key drivers of risk and return
Ability to process large quantities of quantitative and qualitative information and translate them into concise, decision-useful conclusions
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex financial or technical issues clearly
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and AI tools
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
Strong attention to detail and a demonstrated commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work
Intellectual curiosity, sound judgment, and a pragmatic approach to solving problems
Ability to take ownership, manage multiple priorities, and work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
Demonstrated interest in sustainable infrastructure
