Formulation Scientist

About the Role 

Clinikally, India’s fastest growing consumer health startup, is looking for a seasoned Formulation Scientist to lead our product innovation. In this role, you will be the architect of our Rx-grade Cosmeceutical portfolio, creating high-performance solutions for millions of users. You will play a vital role in building and scaling an inclusive, high-impact scientific team that bridges the gap between Dermatological Science and consumer self-care.

What You Will Do

• Rx-Grade Development: Create advanced Cosmeceutical Formulations that meet clinical standards. You will work with our medical board to design solutions for specific conditions like Hyperpigmentation, Alopecia, and Atopic Dermatitis.
• Rapid Prototyping: Generate new product ideas and create rapid prototypes, including dye solutions for color matching and precision Galenic samples for doctor testing.
• Clinical Pilot Studies: Maintain meticulous experimental results for pilot studies and provide research-backed data to support our Online Dermatologist Consultations.
• Stability & Quality: Solve complex Stability Problems and supervise production batches to ensure consistency. You will be responsible for the transition from lab-scale to mass production of our products like hair growth serum, pH balanced cleanser, retinol serum, etc.
• Laboratory Management: Manage lab supplies and ensure the R&D environment is optimized for innovation.
• Strategic Communication: Assist in writing scientific product concepts and present complex technologies to non-scientific stakeholders to drive brand strategy.

The Best Fit

• Education: M.Pharm in Pharmaceutics or an equivalent degree in Cosmetic Science is required.
• Domain Expertise: Expert knowledge in Cosmeceutical Manufacturing and advanced Drug Delivery Systems for the skin.
• Formulation Knack: A deep passion for developing high-efficacy formulations in personal care, specializing in Advanced Skincare and Trichology.
• Technical Breadth: Comprehensive understanding of Technology Transfer, R&D workflows, and Scale-up processes.
• Leadership: Proven ability to build and mentor a scientific team and a track record of working with notable brands in the beauty or pharma space.

Innovation and Technology

You will work on the next generation of Clinikally’s proprietary technology, building on the success of our Niacinamide Face Wash, Caffeine Eye Cream, and SPF Sunscreen. You will be responsible for ensuring these formulations remain the benchmark for Bio-availability and user experience in the Indian market.
