Integration & Operations Technology Specialist

Job Description

About Basic Capital

Basic Capital is building the Robinhood of 401(k)s — a modern retirement platform that gives everyday workers access to the full investment universe, including stocks, crypto, private equity, and venture capital, alongside a first-of-its-kind “Retirement Mortgage” product that enables leveraged investing.

We are operating in a $10T market that has seen little innovation in over 40 years. Since launching just over a year ago, we’ve achieved 30% month-over-month growth, scaled rapidly. Our investors include Bill Ackman, Lux Capital, Forerunner Ventures (Kirsten Green), Henry Kravis, SV Angel, and Ron Conway — a group that reflects conviction in building a category-defining financial platform.

Our team includes talent from Goldman Sachs, Robinhood, Stripe, Uber, and top universities. Based in Tribeca, NYC, we are a high-intensity, high-performance team committed to reshaping retirement and expanding access to wealth.

About the Role

Basic Capital is hiring an Integration & Operations Technology Specialist to bring institutional-grade operating discipline to a company scaling as fast as we are.

This is an execution role at the intersection of operations, technology, and M&A integration. As the business grows — organically, through new partnerships, and through acquisitions — this person will be responsible for bringing new systems, vendors, and processes onto a single, well-run platform: consolidating redundant infrastructure, standardizing operations, and modernizing how the business runs technologically.

Because Basic Capital is a retirement platform, familiarity with the workflows, tools, and vendors used in retirement or wealth management — recordkeeping systems, custodians, TPAs, plan administration software, advisor CRM/portfolio tools — is a strong plus. That said, we’re casting a wide net: strong operators from professional services more broadly are a great fit too.

This is a hands-on seat for someone who has led this kind of work before, whether as an operator inside a growing company or as the consultant brought in to run it, and who wants to own the outcome directly.

What You’ll Do

• Lead integration efforts following acquisitions, partnerships, or new system rollouts — consolidating platforms, vendors, and processes into a single operating model.

• Audit and rationalize vendor contracts, software subscriptions, and back-office tools to eliminate redundancy and reduce cost.

• Consolidate and standardize core systems — payroll, HRIS, ERP — as the company scales and integrates new business lines.

• Identify manual or redundant processes and lead the transition to more automated, technology-enabled workflows.

• Partner with engineering and operations leadership to evaluate and implement technology that reduces manual work, from scoping through rollout.

• Build repeatable playbooks so integration and process improvements become standing infrastructure rather than one-off fixes.

• Manage multiple workstreams concurrently across the operations organization.

Who You Are

• Background in professional services broadly — consulting, financial services operations, or a fast-scaling company that has grown through acquisition — with direct experience leading post-transaction integration: systems consolidation, vendor rationalization, and process standardization.

• Extra credit for experience inside the retirement or wealth management industry — a recordkeeper, TPA, custodian, or advisor/wealth platform — with firsthand knowledge of the operational and technology landscape of financial services.

• Well versed across technology, operations, and M&A integration — comfortable evaluating systems, vendors, and processes and driving change across all three.

• Comfortable owning ambiguous, cross-functional problems end-to-end, with strong attention to detail and follow-through.

• Clear, professional communicator who can translate technical and operational issues for both internal and external stakeholders.

• NYC-based or willing to relocate. In-person role in Tribeca.

What We’re Looking For

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in operations, technology, or M&A integration — at a professional services firm, consulting practice, or fast-scaling company that has grown through acquisition.

• Direct, hands-on experience with post-transaction integration: systems consolidation, vendor and contract rationalization, payroll/HRIS/ERP standardization.

• Comfortable owning ambiguous, cross-functional problems end-to-end without a large team beneath you.

Bonus Points

• Experience inside the retirement or wealth management industry — at a recordkeeper, TPA, custodian, or advisor/wealth platform such as Ascensus.

• Experience evaluating or implementing technology solutions that reduce manual work across operations.

• Top-tier consulting background (MBB, private equity operating teams, or similar).
