Our mission-driven team is seeking a bold and dynamic Systems Test Engineer to support Extra-vehicular Activities (EVA) Test & Verification GSE development who is fueled by high ownership, execution horsepower, growth mindset, and driven to understand our world, science/technology, and life itself, for the benefit of all on Earth and beyond.
POSITION SUMMARY
We are looking for an energetic and dynamic Systems Test Engineer who will primarily be responsible for owning the full lifecycle of electromechanical GSE to support system level tests. This position reports to EVA Test & Verification IPT Lead. This role is onsite and will be based at our Hercules facility.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage GSE development, including requirements and design concept creation, procurement, fabrication, checkout, and integration with test setup.
- Track GSE through development milestones: Kickoff, PDR, CDR, and TRR.
- Develop GSE documentation such as Design Operation and Maintenance Manual (DOMM), Hazard Analysis (HA), Bill of Materials (BOM), mechanical schematics, and electrical schematics.
- Coordinate with external test facilities demonstrating competency of communications.
- Conduct test readiness reviews (TRR) with internal and external stakeholders.
- Prepare presentations for peers, management, and external customers and partners, demonstrating our competency of problem solving.
- Travel as needed for test events. (Less than 20%)
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering (aerospace, electrical, mechanical, or related discipline).
- Experience with designing pressure systems, electrical systems, and/or mechanical systems.
- Experience in hardware test planning, coordination, and execution.
- Experience in test GSE development planning, coordination, and build.
- Experience with NASA human spaceflight programs desired, with related experience in the testing of spacecraft, spacesuits, space vehicles.
- A strong attention to detail while appreciating the bigger picture of complex and ambitious projects.
- Ability to identify gaps and develop solutions quickly and efficiently.
- Experience in Start-up organizations a plus.
Level III
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field (ABET-accredited preferred), required across all levels
- 4-9 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Level IV
- Master's Degree or Ph.D. in Engineering, preferred for Levels II–V and strongly preferred for Levels VI–VII
- 7-12 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.
Requirements
- This position may require access to export controlled technical data or technology subject to NASA regulations, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). In accordance with U.S. export control laws, final candidates may be required to undergo additional export control screening to determine eligibility for access. Meeting these requirements is a condition of employment.

- Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as needed to meet critical project milestones
Physical Requirements
- Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time)
- May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time)
