POSITION SUMMARY
Since Axiom Space is a very complex work environment, we are looking for a resilient, high-energy Axiom Station Chief Systems Engineer who will be responsible for overall implementation of Systems Engineering towards the successful implementation of major elements of Axiom Station.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
End-to-end, cradle-to-grave leadership of the Systems Engineering implementation for Axiom Space Station Systems, including the functional areas of
Concept Definition
Technical Requirements and Requirements Management
Architectures and Design
Implementation and Integration and Interface Management
Verification and Validation – planning through closure
Transition, O&M, Sustainment, through Disposal
Life Cycle/Milestone Management
Decision Analysis/System Performance Analysis
Configuration and Data Management
Risk Management
Responsible for Axiom Station Systems development by providing down-and-in system and subsystem-level support and integration, ranging from system/system of systems to module to subsystem to component.
Lead Axiom Station concept definition including architecture definition, functional analyses, and product breakdown structures.
Lead overall technical requirements development, validation, and management.
Lead external and internal integration, including interface definition, control, risk reduction, and V&V.
Responsible for definition, planning, coordination and closure for verification and validation of Axiom Station requirements.
Define and maintain System and Subsystem integrated performance assessments.
Define and lead variance/waiver process
Define and oversee Configuration, Data, and Risk management processes
Perform other systems engineering tasks as necessary.
Communicating project progress, status, and potential issues to stakeholders and leadership.
Implementing and maintaining agile project management methodologies throughout the project lifecycle.
Perform additional job duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree (Masters preferred) in an engineering (aerospace, electrical, mechanical, or related discipline).
A minimum of 15+ years systems engineering experience including activities across the lifecycle (e.g., concepts, requirements, design support, integration, V&V) equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in the full life cycle from concept, to planning, coordination, execution, and close-out activities.
Experience with spaceflight programs, with related experience in space payload, spacecraft, or space vehicle (prefer specifically NASA human spaceflight programs.)
A strong attention to detail while appreciating the bigger picture of complex and ambitious projects.
Excellent writing and presentation skills with experience communicating to senior decisionmakers and technical audiences.
Experience in Start-up organizations a plus
INCOSE CSEP preferred
Track record of making things happen in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
Uses good judgement to problem-solve proactively, positively impacting hard challenges.
Demonstrated organization skills to meet tight deadlines with high-quality results.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.
Requirements
This position may require access to export controlled technical data or technology subject to NASA regulations, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). In accordance with U.S. export control laws, final candidates may be required to undergo additional export control screening to determine eligibility for access. Meeting these requirements is a condition of employment.
Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised.
Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as needed to meet critical project milestones.
