POSITION SUMMARY

Since Axiom Space is a very complex work environment, we are looking for a resilient, high-energy International Government Markets Manager responsible for translating international government and sovereign engagement into commercially viable, revenue-generating opportunities. This role serves as the bridge between public-sector relationships and private-sector execution, leveraging deep experience with government stakeholders, procurement environments, and policy dynamics to shape, negotiate, and close complex deals.


This position owns strategic accounts and drives the full sales lifecycle from early market engagement and opportunity shaping through contract execution and long-term account growth. The role requires the ability to navigate multi-layered government decision-making processes while structuring agreements that align with corporate strategy, profitability targets, and operational delivery capabilities. Success in this role is defined by the ability to transform relationships and national-level interest into repeatable commercial outcomes, long-term partnerships, and scalable revenue streams.


KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own and lead account strategy for sovereign and government customers, aligning commercial pursuits with geopolitical priorities, national objectives, and long-term partnership value.

  • Serve as the relationship owner across ministries, agencies, and state-backed entities, building trusted, executive-level relationships and navigating complex stakeholder environments.

  • Convert government and sovereign demand signals into structured commercial opportunities, driving pipeline development and revenue growth across international markets.

  • Lead complex negotiations involving government procurement frameworks, public-private partnerships, and non-standard commercial structures, balancing competitiveness, compliance, and profitability.

  • Translate policy, regulatory, and geopolitical dynamics into actionable sales strategies that position the company effectively within government-led or government-influenced programs.

  • Integrate cross-functional teams to align customer requirements with executable, revenue-generating solution.

  • Guide qualification and prioritization of opportunities by applying a nuanced understanding of government funding cycles, procurement pathways, and strategic objectives.

  • Sustain long-term partnerships post-award, leveraging government experience to expand relationships into repeat business, multi-mission programs, and broader commercial growth opportunities.

  • Communicating project progress, status, and potential issues to stakeholders and leadership.

  • Implementing and maintaining agile project management methodologies throughout the project lifecycle.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree, 12+ years of experience in sales, business development, or commercial leadership, with significant exposure to international governments, sovereign customers, or public-sector ecosystems. or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Demonstrated track record of converting government relationships, policy initiatives, or national programs into revenue-generating commercial opportunities.

  • Experience leading complex, high-value negotiations involving government procurement frameworks, public-private partnerships, or hybrid commercial structures.

  • Proven ability to manage long-cycle, multi-stakeholder sales processes across international markets.

  • Strong understanding of government decision-making processes, funding mechanisms, and procurement pathways.

  • Financial and commercial acumen, including pricing strategy, contract structuring, and profitability management.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Track record of making things happen in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.

  • Uses good judgement to problem-solve proactively, positively impacting hard challenges.

  • Demonstrated organization skills to meet tight deadlines with high quality results.

  • Ability to translate geopolitical, policy, and regulatory dynamics into actionable commercial strategies that drive revenue.

  • Executive presence with strong relationship management skills across ministries, agencies, and senior government stakeholders.

  • Advanced negotiation capabilities, particularly in bridging public-sector requirements with private-sector commercial models.

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to identify, shape, and scale sovereign-driven opportunities into repeatable business.

  • Proven capability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and execution rigor.

  • High level of judgment and adaptability in navigating ambiguity, risk, and evolving government priorities.

  • Excellent communication skills, including development of executive-level proposals, briefings, and presentations.

  • Results-oriented mindset with a strong bias for action and accountability in driving deals to closure.

  • Experience in international, highly regulated, or emerging industries (e.g., aerospace, infrastructure, advanced technology) is a strong plus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.


Requirements 

  • This position may require access to export controlled technical data or technology subject to NASA regulations, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). In accordance with U.S. export control laws, final candidates may be required to undergo additional export control screening to determine eligibility for access. Meeting these requirements is a condition of employment.

  • Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised.

  • Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as needed to meet critical project milestones.
