About the role 

We are seeking a Senior Product Manager to own the fleet management and device software behind our autonomous operations. In this role, you will own these products across autonomous haulage and on-road autonomy, working out how a site monitors its machines, assigns them work, reports on production, and diagnoses a machine when something goes wrong.

What you’ll do

• Fleets: Own the roadmap for the web application used to run autonomous haulage operations, covering real-time monitoring of machines on site, site mapping and operating zones, route definition and assignment, machine commands, and production reporting. Define and deliver the on-road version of the fleet product, including the requirements specific to road operation and the decisions on what carries over from haulage, what is rebuilt, and what is new.
• Device Software: Own the per-machine interface used by engineers, technicians, and operations for status, health, diagnostics, connectivity, and logging. Define what a person working at an individual machine needs to see and do, and how that relates to the fleet-level product.
• Production Reporting: Own the reporting our products provide on customer operations, including productivity, cycle time, utilization, and the surfaces used by site leadership to identify bottlenecks.
• Multi-Site and Access: Own the product requirements associated with scale, including site and account structure, user roles and permissions, deployment configuration, and the operational surfaces our field teams depend on.
• Platform Architecture: Define what belongs in a shared platform across markets and surfaces, what is specialized per market, and where separate implementations are warranted. 
• Data and Integrations: Define how operational and machine data moves between our products, engineering systems, and customer systems, including the interfaces and reporting our customers and field teams depend on.
• Requirements and Prioritization: Write product requirements, maintain the roadmap, and run delivery with engineering. Define success metrics per capability and report against them. Own intake and prioritization of requests from customers, field teams, and internal stakeholders.
• Field Research: Conduct primary research with site leaders, deployment operations, field engineers, and technicians, in their working environment, and translate findings into product decisions.
• Cross-Functional Partnership: Partner with engineering, autonomy, field engineering and deployment operations, customer success, safety, and training, and represent these products to customers.

What we’re looking for

• Bachelor's degree in a technical, design, or business field is required, with 3+ years in product management. Equivalent experience will be considered in place of the degree.
• Demonstrated end-to-end ownership of a software product in production, from requirements through release and measured adoption, including at least one product taken from initial definition to first customers.
• Deep experience with operational or fleet software used by people who do not work at a desk, in industries such as mining, construction, energy, logistics, transportation, manufacturing, or field service.
• Experience with products that monitor or command physical equipment, vehicles, or machinery.
• Experience with real-time status and telemetry, mapping or geospatial interfaces, or dispatch and assignment workflows.
• Experience with multi-tenant products involving customer accounts, user roles, and permissions.
• Sufficient technical depth to work directly with engineers on distributed systems, connectivity, data pipelines, and system integrations, and to hold a position on architectural trade-offs.
• Demonstrated ability to establish and hold a product or technical direction across teams outside your reporting line.
• Primary user research experience conducted in the field, in the working environment of the user, rather than through surveys or proxies.
• Data fluency sufficient to query product usage and operational data directly, in SQL or an equivalent.
• Strong written communication across product requirements, decision records, and customer-facing material.
• Experience delivering in environments where the product, the underlying autonomy system, and the customer's operation are concurrently in development.
• Ability to work onsite five days a week in San Francisco, and to travel regularly to customer sites, including internationally. Site work requires personal protective equipment and site-specific safety induction.

This role is based in our San Francisco office. Atoms is a company driven by invention and continuous change - we are constantly reimagining our industries, building new products, and refining how we operate. We do our best work together. That’s why all of our office-based teams work onsite, five days a week.

The base salary range for this role is $176,000 - $242,000 per year.

Actual compensation will be determined on an individual basis and may vary depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package. You may also be eligible for equity awards.
