Job Mission

ASML is the world’s leading provider of lithography systems for the semiconductor industry, manufacturing complex machines that are critical to the production of integrated circuits or microchips. This position is for a Team Lead First Line Support Production Engineer to work in the Production Engineering department in Wilton Factory, CT. The candidate will oversee First Line Support personnel during the assigned shift, provide technical support and guidance to the team, coordinate daily work activities, and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with production, quality, and engineering requirements. The Team Lead will also support rapid resolution of engineering disturbance notices, drive execution against production priorities, and act as a key communication point between the work floor, Production Engineering, Manufacturing, and leadership.

Job Description

• Oversee First Line Support personnel during the assigned shift to ensure resources are aligned to production priorities, technical needs, and shift objectives.
• Provide accountable technical support by guiding troubleshooting activities, reviewing engineering disturbance notices, and helping drive timely resolution of production issues.
• Coordinate work across the shift to ensure tasks are assigned, prioritized, followed up, and completed according to safety, quality, and production standards.

• Serve as the primary shift point of contact for technical escalation, resource alignment, and communication between team members, Production Engineering, Manufacturing, and leadership.
• Monitor shift progress, identify risks or gaps early, and take appropriate action to maintain workflow, output, quality, and cycle time expectations.
• Support team members with coaching, knowledge sharing, and on-the-floor technical guidance to improve capability, consistency, and execution
• Be able to recognize the gaps within the team, develop and implement short-term containments and structural solutions for improvement whether communication, training, etc.
• Escalate structural process or procedural issues to the Competency Production Engineering team and serve as a consultant for the solution space
• Present daily shift reports, production status, quality concerns, barriers, and improvement actions to support decision-making and quality improvement efforts, to ensure the information passed down to the next shift precisely and timely manner
• Support root-cause analysis, cycle-time improvement, manufacturing procedures, and technical work instructions as required.
• Train, coach, and mentor employees during onboarding, training periods, and ongoing daily execution upon request, to ensure the trainings is strictly followed the FLS established training guidelines
• Coordinate and track employees time-off to ensure that there is always at least one employee present for each work center on each shift
• Work in a cleanroom environment occasionally to support production processes and lead troubleshooting actions, including full gowning, working around overhead cranes, fork trucks, motorized pallet movers, lasers, ladders, platforms, and chemicals.
• Attend and support cycle time meeting presented by Product Lead group bi-weekly upon request, collaborate with PLs and cascade information/request down to the team to improve productivity
• This position is compressed work week(CWW) 12hrs/day from 10:00 am to 10:00 PM (more details during interview session)
• Required to attend all Tier 2 meetings every day to capture critical information, help request and cascade down to the team, and other meeting upon request

                             
Education & Work Experience

• Bachelor Degree in an engineering discipline a Bachelor Degree in in Science (Physic , Material, Math, Chemical)  with 2+ years of experience in production or Manufacturing Engineering.

Additional Skills & Work Experience

• 5+ years of work experience in a high-tech production or manufacturing environment, preferably with hands-on engineering support in optical fabrication, assembly, or advanced manufacturing. Direct people management or complex project management experience strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to lead daily work coordination, prioritize tasks, and support shift execution in a dynamic production environment.
• Proven record of strong problem-solving skills, structured troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, containment development, and follow-through to closure.
• Experience coaching, training, mentoring, or providing technical guidance to engineers, technicians, or production employees.
• Ability to communicate production risks, disturbances, quality issues, and recovery plans clearly to cross-functional work centers and management team.
• Experience in optical fabrication or assembly processes such as dry/wet etch, optical polishing, lithography, optical contacting, coating, bonding, interferometry, or related processes is a plus.
• Cleanroom experience operating in manufacturing environments is a plus.
• Working knowledge of statistical process control, PFMEA, Teamcenter, SAP, and production-related software systems is a plus.
• Ability to interpret optical tolerancing, specifications, and scratch-dig requirements is a plus.

• Must demonstrate strong reliability in term of coming to work on time, not frequently taking time off without arrangement a head of time, not deviating the execution of assignment requested by management unless being discussed.

Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.
