Introduction to the job

At ASML, our people are at the center of innovation. As the world's leading supplier of advanced lithography systems for the semiconductor industry, we rely on effective learning, knowledge sharing, and skill development to enable operational excellence and continuous innovation.

The Wilton Factory Learning & Knowledge Management team is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Technical Trainer who is passionate about helping employees build the technical knowledge, practical skills, and confidence needed to perform successfully in a complex manufacturing environment.

In this role, you will deliver advanced practical and technical training through instructor-led, virtual, hands-on, and on-the-job learning experiences. You will facilitate critical knowledge transfer, coach learners, and help employees apply complex technical knowledge and skills in the workplace.

You will work closely with subject matter experts, business stakeholders, learning professionals, and fellow trainers to deliver and continuously improve high-quality learning experiences. You will also qualify less-experienced trainers and trainees, prepare co-facilitators and subject matter experts for delivery, and contribute specialized technical and instructional expertise to the development of learning solutions.

ASML US, including its affiliates and subsidiaries, bring together the most creative minds in science and technology to develop lithography machines that are key to producing faster, cheaper, more energy-efficient microchips. We design, develop, integrate, market and service these advanced machines, which enable our customers - the world’s leading chipmakers - to reduce the size and increase the functionality of their microchips, which in turn leads to smaller, more powerful consumer electronics. Our headquarters are in Veldhoven, Netherlands and we have 18 office locations around the United States including main offices in Chandler, Arizona, San Jose and San Diego, California, Wilton, Connecticut, and Hillsboro, Oregon.

Role and Responsibilities

As a Manufacturing Technical Trainer, you will serve as a trainer, facilitator, coach, and technical learning specialist. • Deliver complex training and knowledge transfer for technical content.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of the assigned subject area, with the capability to deliver the complete scope of the relevant technical content.
  • Deliver training to senior, specialized, and business-critical learner groups.

  • Apply varied facilitation methodologies and didactic techniques to promote knowledge transfer, technical skill development, learner engagement, and practical application.
  • Help learners prepare to transfer their learning to the job by identifying potential barriers and developing practical ways to address them.

Facilitate Engaging Learning Experiences

  • Apply adult-learning principles and varied instructional techniques to accommodate different learner needs and preferences.
  • Establish and manage an inclusive, engaging, productive, safe, and learner-focused training environment.
  • Create or adapt job aids, reference materials, instructor resources, and other performance-support tools that reinforce learning after training.
  • Serve as a technical learning resource for participants during and, when applicable, after training.

Qualify Trainers and Learners

  • Assess and qualify less-experienced trainers to deliver assigned technical training.
  • Participate in the qualification or certification of trainees, where applicable.
  • Observe trainer and learner performance and provide actionable feedback based on established technical and instructional expectations.
  • Determine whether trainers and learners have demonstrated the required knowledge and skills for qualification within the assigned area.
  • Coach less-experienced trainers in technical content, facilitation methods, learner engagement, classroom management, and practical skills instruction.

Support Trainer and Facilitator Readiness

  • Onboard and prepare less-experienced trainers, co-facilitators, and subject matter experts to support consistent and effective training delivery.
  • Lead train-the-trainer sessions, dry runs, practice sessions, and delivery-readiness reviews.
  • Evaluate trainer readiness and identify technical, facilitation, or delivery gaps that require further preparation.
  • Support trainers and subject matter experts in responding to complex learner questions and classroom situations.

Provide Coaching and Address Barriers to Learning

  • Apply medium-level coaching skills to help learners and trainers improve knowledge, skills, confidence, and job performance.
  • Identify and actively address resistance to learning and team dynamics that may prevent achievement of learning and performance objectives.
  • Help learners identify performance barriers and determine appropriate actions to improve the transfer of learning to the workplace.
  • Exercise professional judgment when responding to learner challenges, technical questions, and unexpected classroom or workplace-learning situations.

Contribute to Learning-Solution Development

  • Contribute specialized technical and instructional expertise to the development and improvement of learning solutions and learner experiences.
  • Collaborate with learning designers, developers, trainers, subject matter experts, and business stakeholders to ensure learning materials are technically accurate, relevant, effective, and instructionally sound.
  • Research and analyze training or performance needs and recommend appropriate updates or modifications.
  • Design and deliver projects or structured assignments within the assigned area of expertise.
  • Make changes to complex training materials as technical content, processes, tools, equipment, or business needs evolve.
  • Support the certification or qualification process for participating learners and trainers.

Evaluate and Continuously Improve Training

  • Collect and analyze feedback and observations from classroom, virtual, practical, and on-the-job learning.
  • Recommend improvements to training content, learning activities, practical exercises, delivery methods, assessments, processes, and tools.
  • Monitor whether changes to training materials or delivery methods achieve the intended learning and performance objectives.

Support Learning and Knowledge Management

  • Stay current with internal and external developments in the relevant technical area, manufacturing environment, instructional practices, coaching methods, and learning-delivery approaches.
  • Support the development, transfer, retention, and reuse of knowledge required to achieve operational and workforce-development objectives.
  • Integrate knowledge-management practices into learning delivery and learning-solution improvement.
