Introduction to the job 

ASML's Linkou manufacturing site serves as a key competence center for mature products, supporting PAS5500, Twinscan, Special Applications, YieldStar, and Reticle Handler product lines. The site integrates Development & Engineering, Manufacturing, and Customer Support expertise within one engineering organization to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement. 

As a Process Lab Engineer, you will own the operation and continuous improvement of the ACE Service Lab, supporting reticle and wafer preparation, particle inspection, process execution, equipment maintenance, and new process/tool introduction to ensure stable manufacturing performance and product quality. 


This position is a Taiwan local hire and is based onsite at the Linkou Factory. The role requires working in a cleanroom environment and supporting second-shift operations (16:00-01:00).

 

Role and responsibilities 

  • Own daily operation of the ACE Service Lab to support manufacturing line requirements for reticle and wafer preparation. 

  • Perform particle inspection, coating, developing, reticle cleaning, and related laboratory processes. 

  • Operate and maintain service lab equipment, including track systems, particle inspection tools, sorters, and associated process equipment. 

  • Execute troubleshooting activities, equipment preventive maintenance (PM), and periodic maintenance programs to ensure tool reliability and process stability. 

  • Investigate manufacturing issues and support escalation handling, material notifications, disturbance notifications, and supply deviation notifications. 

  • Collaborate with Production Engineers, Technical Leads, Project Leads, Facility teams, and Operations teams to improve existing processes and drive operational efficiency. 

  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and Industrialization projects involving new equipment, process implementation, and manufacturing readiness activities. 

  • Analyze process and equipment performance data to identify improvement opportunities and drive corrective actions. 

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives through Lean Manufacturing, Statistical Process Control (SPC), and problem-solving methodologies. 

  • Work in a cleanroom environment and support second-shift operations (16:00-01:00). 


Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Science, Materials Science, or related disciplines. 

  • 2+ years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing, laboratory operations, process engineering, or equipment engineering. 

  • Experience working in a semiconductor cleanroom environment. 

  • Hands-on experience operating, maintaining, or troubleshooting semiconductor process equipment. 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement sustainable solutions. 

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams. 

  • Good communication skills in English, including the ability to understand equipment interfaces, technical documentation, and work instructions. 

  • Willingness to work in a cleanroom environment and support second-shift operations. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience with lithography-related processes, wafer preparation, reticle handling, coating, developing, or particle inspection operations. 

  • Experience operating semiconductor process tools such as track systems, sorters, SP1/SP3, or similar inspection equipment. 

  • Familiarity with process control methodologies, including SPC, Six Sigma, or Lean Manufacturing. 

  • Experience supporting NPI, process transfer, or manufacturing qualification projects. 

  • Knowledge of semiconductor chemical handling and laboratory operations. 

  • Experience leading continuous improvement projects or driving operational excellence initiatives. 

  • Demonstrated ability to mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development.
