Manufacturing - NPI Project Lead - Linkou

Job Description

Introduction to the job

The Manufacturing New Product Introduction (NPI) team plays a critical role in ensuring new products, modules, and design changes are successfully transferred from Development & Engineering (D&E) into volume manufacturing.

As an NPI Project Lead, you will drive and coordinate cross-functional NPI projects throughout the product industrialization lifecycle, ensuring manufacturing readiness, successful qualification, and smooth production ramp-up. You will serve as a key interface between D&E, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and global stakeholders, helping to align project objectives, manage project risks, and deliver successful NPI outcomes.

Working within ASML's Linkou Factory, you will collaborate closely with local and global teams across multiple engineering disciplines, including mechanical, electrical, software, mechatronics, system engineering, and manufacturing. This role offers broad exposure to product development, industrialization, manufacturing operations, and international stakeholder management.

The ideal candidate combines strong project management capabilities with a solid technical background and hands-on experience in manufacturing or NPI environments. This role requires the ability to effectively bridge engineering and manufacturing teams, understand technical challenges, drive stakeholder alignment, and lead successful product industrialization and ramp-up activities.

Due to close collaboration with global teams, particularly in the Netherlands, this role typically involves several evening meetings per week to support project execution, stakeholder alignment, and NPI activities. Flexible remote participation is supported for these meetings when appropriate.

The final position level and job title will be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications, relevant experience, and overall interview performance.

This position is a Taiwan local hire and is based onsite at the Linkou Factory. The role follows a Monday-to-Friday onsite work model, enabling close collaboration with factory teams.

Role and responsibilities

  • Lead NPI projects from planning through qualification, ramp-up, and manufacturing release.

  • Drive cross-functional project execution and coordinate activities across D&E, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Logistics, and other stakeholders.

  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, risk assessments, and mitigation plans.

  • Ensure manufacturing readiness for new products, modules, engineering changes, and industrialization activities.

  • Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and drive timely resolutions to ensure project objectives are achieved.

  • Facilitate project reviews, project status meetings, and stakeholder alignment discussions.

  • Collaborate closely with global teams, including stakeholders in the Netherlands, to support successful NPI execution and product transfers.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance NPI processes, project execution efficiency, and manufacturing performance.

  • Communicate project status, risks, key decisions, and recommendations to management and project stakeholders.

  • Capture lessons learned and implement best practices to improve future NPI and industrialization projects.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, or other relevant engineering disciplines.

  • Approximately 5–10 years of experience in Project Management, Program Management, NPI, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrialization, Product Engineering, or related functions.

  • Proven experience leading cross-functional projects with end-to-end ownership and accountability.

  • Experience working within manufacturing, factory, production, semiconductor, semiconductor equipment, or other high-tech industrial environments.

  • Strong project planning, stakeholder management, risk management, and execution capabilities.

  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand engineering concepts, manufacturing processes, product architecture, and technical project risks.

  • Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders in a complex and matrixed organization.

  • Strong analytical thinking, structured problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Ability to drive project outcomes independently with minimal supervision.

  • Fluent English communication and presentation skills.

  • Willingness to collaborate with global stakeholders across different time zones.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading NPI, industrialization, manufacturing transfer, engineering change implementation, qualification, ramp-up, or production introduction projects.

  • Experience in semiconductor, semiconductor equipment, electronics manufacturing, automation, mechatronics, or other high-tech industries.

  • Experience working closely with Development & Engineering teams during product introduction and industrialization phases.

  • Hands-on experience in semiconductor equipment, manufacturing engineering, product engineering, system integration, industrialization, or other technical engineering functions.

  • Experience serving as a technical lead, project lead, or key engineering interface between Development & Engineering and Manufacturing.

  • Familiarity with project management methodologies, governance frameworks, and change management practices.

  • Experience driving process improvement, manufacturing optimization, operational excellence, or productivity enhancement initiatives.

  • Experience collaborating with global engineering and manufacturing teams.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing readiness reviews, product qualification processes, and production ramp-up management.

  • Experience working within a semiconductor equipment manufacturing environment is highly preferred.
