Introduction to the job
The Manufacturing New Product Introduction (NPI) team plays a critical role in ensuring new products, modules, and design changes are successfully transferred from Development & Engineering (D&E) into volume manufacturing.
As part of ASML’s Manufacturing organization in Linkou, you will work in a highly collaborative engineering environment across multiple disciplines, including mechanical, electrical, software, mechatronics, and system engineering. This role offers broad exposure to product development, manufacturing, and global engineering collaboration while supporting the successful introduction of new products into manufacturing.
As an NPI Production Engineer, you will act as a key interface between D&E and Manufacturing, supporting new product introductions, driving manufacturing readiness, and resolving complex technical challenges throughout the product lifecycle.
This position is designed for engineers with at least 3 years of semiconductor equipment industry experience who enjoy technical problem solving, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous improvement. You will work closely with global stakeholders, including teams in the Netherlands, to ensure a smooth and successful NPI ramp-up.
This is a day-shift position (9:00 AM–6:00 PM, Monday to Friday) based in Linkou, Taiwan, offering the opportunity to work in a highly technical and globally connected environment while maintaining a stable working schedule. This role requires full-time on-site presence and close collaboration within the factory environment.
Engineers from mechanical, electrical, software, mechatronics, optics, automation, or system engineering backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
Role and responsibilities
New Product Introduction (NPI)
Support the introduction of new products, modules, and engineering changes into manufacturing.
Participate in design reviews and manufacturing readiness activities during NPI phases.
Identify manufacturability risks and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement improvements.
Ensure smooth transfer of products and technologies from D&E into volume production.
Support engineering builds, pilot builds, qualification activities, and product ramp-up.
Technical Problem Solving
Investigate and resolve complex technical issues related to semiconductor equipment, modules, and subsystems.
Perform systematic root cause analysis and develop sustainable corrective actions.
Collaborate with D&E and factory teams to drive structural improvements and prevent issue recurrence.
Analyze system behaviors and provide technical recommendations to improve product reliability and manufacturing efficiency.
Support troubleshooting activities for issues that require deep technical analysis and cross-functional alignment.
Manufacturing Readiness & Continuous Improvement
Develop and maintain manufacturing procedures, troubleshooting guidelines, and work instructions.
Ensure manufacturing processes, documentation, acceptance criteria, and technical support materials are ready before product release.
Identify process gaps and lead improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and operational excellence.
Support implementation of engineering changes and process optimizations.
Stakeholder Management & Collaboration
Work closely with D&E, Manufacturing, Technical Support, Quality, Supply Chain, and global engineering teams.
Present technical findings, project updates, and improvement proposals to local and international stakeholders.
Act as a key technical representative during NPI activities and cross-functional discussions.
Support knowledge sharing and technical coaching within the organization when needed.
Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
Experience
Minimum 3 years of experience in the semiconductor equipment industry.
Experience in Manufacturing, NPI, Process Engineering, Technical Support, System Integration, Product Engineering, Development Engineering, Equipment Engineering, or related technical functions.
Hands-on experience in troubleshooting complex equipment, modules, subsystems, or manufacturing challenges.
Technical & Problem-Solving Skills
Strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving capabilities.
Experience performing root cause analysis and driving sustainable improvements.
Ability to understand complex system interactions and identify practical solutions.
Comfortable working in a dynamic and fast-paced engineering environment.
Communication
Strong English communication skills with the ability to actively participate in technical discussions and meetings with global stakeholders.
Ability to present technical information clearly and effectively in an international environment.
Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI), product transfers, engineering builds, qualification activities, or manufacturing ramp-up.
Experience with semiconductor manufacturing equipment, precision systems, automation equipment, or complex electromechanical systems.
Knowledge or experience in mechanical, electrical, software, automation, mechatronics, optics, or system integration engineering.
Experience working in multinational and cross-functional environments.
Familiarity with engineering change management, qualification activities, and manufacturing readiness processes.
Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and drive technical improvements across organizations.
This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
