Introduction

The Power & High Voltage group at ASML develops and validates advanced test cabinet solutions that support the introduction of new products. As product complexity and high power density (>100kW) demands continue to increase, creating reliable and scalable\solutions to verify these products becomes more challenging. In this internship you will help investigate and define practical approaches to verify high-power requirements in test environments.

This internship offers a unique opportunity to
take a deep-dive into the analytical side of product development & testing and/or practicing hands-on engineering with analytical problem-solving in a highly innovative setting. This work package has the option to tailor the assignment to the interests, skills and aspirations of the applicant. You will work alongside experienced engineers and contribute to real technical challenges that directly support product integration activities.
  

Your assignment

In this internship, you will explore solutions for increasing power demands within testing environments for cabinets. You will investigate current limitations, evaluate technical concepts, and help identify a structured path toward future improvements. The assignment combines practical engineering work with technical analysis, allowing you to gain valuable experience in power electronics and electromagnetic compatibility. Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Analyze current power delivery challenges within test cabinet environments.

  • Investigate power supply and power amplifier concepts for high-power applications.

  • Evaluate technical solutions to improve reliability and scalability.

  • Assess electromagnetic compatibility considerations and potential risks.

  • Perform measurements, testing, and technical data analysis.

  • Document findings and provide recommendations for future development.

  • Collaborate with engineers to translate insights into practical next steps.
     

This is a bachelor/master internship for minimum 5 months, minimum 4 days per week (32 hours) (3 days on-site). The start date of this internship is flexible from October onwards.
 

Your profile

To be suitable for the internship, you:

  • Are pursuing a bachelor's degree or master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.

  • Have basic knowledge of power supplies, power electronics, or power amplifiers.

  • Have familiarity with electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) principles through coursework, projects, or practical experience.

  • Are analytical and able to investigate technical challenges in a structured way.

  • Are proactive, collaborative, and comfortable working in a multidisciplinary engineering team.
     

This internship is suitable for students who enjoy combining theory with hands-on engineering. You will have the opportunity to work on meaningful technical challenges, develop practical skills, and learn from experienced professionals. The internship takes place in Veldhoven, the Netherlands, where you will contribute to innovative solutions that support ASML's product integration activities.
 

Working with certain technologies within this internship may require compliance with applicable export control regulations.


This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
