Founders Associate (Part-Time)
Job Description
Aseon Labs builds robotic pitstops for self-driving cars. A depot in a box for charging, cleaning & inspecting autonomous fleets directly in operating zones.
Autonomous driving is working. The operational layer around it is not. Today, fleets lose significant time and money traveling to centralized depots for charging, cleaning and servicing, creating dead miles, lower uptime and operational bottlenecks that limit fleet scale.
Aseon Pods are modular, rapidly deployable robotic pitstops that keep autonomous fleets operating near demand. By bringing charging, cleaning and inspection directly into operating zones, we help fleet operators increase uptime, reduce operational overhead and scale markets more efficiently without relying on large centralized depots.
We’re second-time founders and mobility infrastructure operators. Previously, we built and scaled Pushme to 5,000 stations across 40 cities before its acquisition by TIER–Dott ($600M raised). Aseon Labs is backed by Y Combinator and headquartered in Redwood City.
We’re looking for a part-time Founders Associate to work directly with us on real problems from day one.
You won’t be doing “intern work.” You’ll be in the middle of building something from scratch — helping shape our GTM playbook, talking to operators, strategizing pilots, closing partners, and figuring out what actually works.
What you’ll do
- Work directly with founders on whatever matters most that week
- Speak to real customers and turn messy conversations into clear insights
- Build and develop partnerships (parking, real estate, infrastructure, etc.)
- Help design and scope pilots with leading AV operators
- Build simple models, docs, and systems to support decisions
- Take ownership of projects and drive them end-to-end
- Within your first month, you’ll identify and engage infrastructure partners, validate viable sites, and help kick off our first pilot with a signed partner or committed location
- You’ll likely spend your first week cold-calling parking lot owners and mapping out power grid capacity in Phoenix or SF
Who you are
- Current student or early in your career
- High agency – you take initiative, move fast, and don’t wait to be told what to do
- You fully own what you work on and care about outcomes, not just tasks
- You want to be the best and win – you’re competitive and hold a high bar for yourself
- Structured thinker who can break down messy problems
- Comfortable operating with very little direction
- Curious about how real-world systems actually work
Role details
- Part-time (flexible, ~20 hrs/week)
- $25–$50/hr (prorated from $50k–$100k annual)
- Remote-friendly
- Work directly with founders
Compensation
- Paid (hourly / stipend)
- Potential to turn into a full-time role
- Potential for equity if transitioning to full-time
Why this role
- You’ll see how a company actually gets built (not the polished version)
- You’ll work on real problems with real customers
- You’ll have ownership early – not after 6 months
- You’ll be close to a fast-moving part of the autonomy ecosystem
Interview Process
- Quick intro call
- Short working task
- Final chat
Time to hire: 1–2 weeks
