## About the Position

We are seeking a compassionate and collaborative Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to join our growing Colorado team in a part-time, hourly position.

Our program uses a parent-led, team-based ABA model that places caregivers at the center of treatment while also utilizing Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) to support implementation, modeling, and skill development.

In our model, the BCBA partners with caregivers to identify meaningful goals, understand behavior, develop practical strategies, and build caregiver confidence in using those strategies during everyday routines. RBTs work directly with children and families to model strategies, provide opportunities for practice, support skill acquisition, and help caregivers carry treatment strategies into daily life.

The goal is not for skills to exist only during therapy sessions. We want treatment strategies to be practical enough that caregivers can use them successfully when the treatment team is not present.

## What You'll Do

The BCBA will provide clinical leadership for assigned cases and work collaboratively with caregivers and RBTs. Responsibilities include:

* Conduct initial and ongoing behavioral and skills assessments
* Develop individualized, function-based treatment plans based on the needs and priorities of the child and family
* Provide ongoing caregiver coaching and parent-led ABA services
* Teach caregivers how to implement behavioral and skill-building strategies within everyday routines
* Model interventions and provide supportive, practical feedback to caregivers
* Develop meaningful goals related to communication, social engagement, adaptive skills, emotional and behavioral regulation, safety, independence, play, and daily living
* Develop clear treatment protocols that can be implemented consistently by caregivers and RBTs
* Provide clinical supervision, modeling, feedback, and direction to RBTs
* Observe RBT implementation and make treatment modifications based on client response and data
* Support RBTs in effectively modeling strategies for caregivers and promoting generalization across people, routines, and environments
* Use naturalistic and developmentally appropriate teaching strategies whenever appropriate
* Review treatment data and caregiver feedback to evaluate progress
* Modify treatment strategies and goals based on client progress and changing family needs
* Conduct reassessments and update treatment plans as clinically appropriate
* Coordinate care with schools, medical providers, therapists, and other members of the client's treatment team when appropriate
* Maintain accurate, timely, and clinically appropriate documentation
* Participate in team meetings, consultation, and case collaboration as needed
* Maintain services consistent with BACB ethical requirements, payer requirements, and applicable state and federal regulations

## Our Parent-Led Model

**Parent-led does not mean parents do it alone.**

Caregivers, RBTs, and BCBAs each have an important role on the treatment team.

The BCBA develops treatment, analyzes progress, coaches caregivers, supervises RBTs, and modifies intervention based on the child's and family's needs.

The RBT provides direct intervention while modeling strategies, creating opportunities for caregivers to practice, supporting skill acquisition, and helping skills generalize into everyday routines.

The caregiver works collaboratively with the treatment team to identify priorities, learn strategies, practice skills, and incorporate effective supports into family life.

For example, an RBT may model how to create communication opportunities during play, while the BCBA coaches the caregiver on how to use the same strategy during meals, getting dressed, community outings, or sibling interactions.

This collaborative approach allows children to receive direct support while also building the caregiver's ability to support progress throughout the week.

We emphasize Natural Environment Teaching (NET), caregiver coaching, function-based intervention, positive reinforcement, relationship-building, and developmentally appropriate teaching.

Treatment should fit into a child's life—not require a child's life to revolve around treatment.

## Required Qualifications

* Current Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification in good standing
* Master's degree or higher in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, Special Education, or a related field
* Ability to meet Colorado and payer requirements for providing behavior-analytic services
* Experience conducting assessments and developing individualized treatment plans
* Knowledge of functional assessment and function-based intervention
* Strong understanding of ABA principles and evidence-based intervention
* Ability to supervise, train, and provide effective clinical feedback to RBTs
* Ability to independently analyze client progress and make clinically appropriate treatment modifications
* Strong caregiver coaching and interpersonal skills
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Strong organization and time-management skills
* Ability to complete clinical documentation within required timelines
* Ability to provide in-person services in Grand Junction and surrounding areas
* Reliable transportation for travel to client service locations
* Commitment to ethical, compassionate, individualized care

## Preferred Qualifications

* Experience providing caregiver or parent training
* Experience with parent-led or caregiver-mediated ABA
* Experience working with young children and families
* Experience with autism and other developmental disabilities
* Experience with Natural Environment Teaching (NET) and other naturalistic approaches
* Experience working with Medicaid-funded ABA programs
* Experience supervising and developing RBTs
* Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams

## Who We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is clinically strong but also warm, flexible, collaborative, and approachable with families and RBTs.

The right BCBA understands that effective caregiver coaching is collaborative. You should be comfortable listening to families, identifying what is realistic within their routines, explaining ABA without unnecessary jargon, modeling strategies, and adjusting recommendations when something isn't working.

You should also enjoy developing RBTs—not simply overseeing their hours. We want our RBTs to understand the why behind treatment, model strategies effectively for caregivers, and help families see how skills can be practiced naturally throughout the day.

## Position Details

* Caseload: Part-time caseload with opportunity to increase as the program grows

* Compensation: $***–$*** per hour, based on experience and qualifications

Other requirements:
Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, Special Education, or a related field
Current Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification in good standing
Meet applicable Colorado Medicaid and payer credentialing requirements
Current CPR and First Aid certification, or ability to obtain upon hire
Crisis prevention/intervention certification or willingness to complete employer-required crisis intervention training
Successful completion of required criminal background checks and screenings
Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current automobile insurance
Ability to travel to client homes and community-based service locations
Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, and transition between floor and standing positions throughout sessions
Ability to sit and engage in activities on the floor with children
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Ability to respond quickly and safely when client behavior presents an immediate safety concern
Ability to implement approved safety and crisis-response procedures when clinically necessary and within the employee’s training
Ability to work in home and community environments that may involve varying noise levels, movement, and activity
Ability to use a computer or mobile device for data collection, documentation, communication, and other job-related responsibilities
Ability to maintain client confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, BACB ethical requirements, and organizational policies
