Seabound offers an onboard carbon capture system for ships that traps CO₂ emissions as solid carbonate pebbles. It features a retrofittable, compact design that captures between 25 % and 95 % of CO₂, is fully automated, and can be monitored remotely. Ships fitted with the system can offload the captured carbonate at port, where it is recycled for reuse or sequestered or used in fuel production.

About the Company

Seabound is an award-winning startup decarbonizing global shipping by capturing CO₂ emissions directly onboard ships. To date, we’ve completed two world-first pilots; raised >$10M in equity and grant funding from top investors including Lowercarbon Capital, Collaborative Fund, Y Combinator, and Eastern Pacific Shipping; and partnered with leading shipping and industrial players. Having recently completed our first full-scale commercial systems, Seabound is now entering its commercialization and scale-up phase.

Alisha Fredriksson

I’m on a mission to tackle the climate crisis by decarbonizing shipping. Before Seabound, I launched a climate program and built global partnerships at Generation, a non-profit founded by McKinsey & Co. I also helped start a maritime electro-fuel startup (Liquid Wind), climate activist group (Green New Deal London), global university (Minerva University) , and jewelry social enterprise (Seema).
