Job Summary
Voyager Technologies is seeking a Senior Proposal Writer / Proposal Architect to join its Proposal Development Team. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the Director of Proposal Development and be responsible for strategizing, architecting, and writing technical proposals for Astrobotic's commercial spacecraft delivery services and spacecraft systems. Candidates with technical backgrounds will also have the opportunity to help engineer the technical solutions being bid in proposals. This position is ideal for systems engineers, technical project managers, space scientists, and other high-level technical thinkers who are interested in flexing their creative skillset more.
Job Responsibilities:
- Work within a team to develop technically credible, convincing, and competitive aerospace proposals for NASA, the DoW, and other government and civilian customers.
- Draft original content for proposals, including product descriptions, technical specifications, and performance requirements.
- Contribute to developing proposal win themes, storyboards, and strategic narrative approaches.
- Contribute to writing executive summaries and other highly critical proposal sections.
- Conduct interviews with subject matter experts to gather technical information and incorporate it into proposals.
- Review technical documentation and convert it into polished and credible proposal content.
- Work with graphic designers to create compelling visual representations of technical content.
- Assemble, review, and edit proposals to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to guidelines.
- Rework proposal content to address feedback from internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide guidance to other technical writers on the team.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field, such as engineering, the physical sciences, or a related area. Pursuit of relevant advanced degrees, relevant internships, or other relevant experiences may be considered in lieu of professional experience.
- 5+ years of experience working in the aerospace industry or a related field.
- Basic understanding of spacecraft systems and engineering principles.
- Prior experience writing competitive proposals for funding.
- The creativity to communicate technical topics through both prose and graphics.
- High-level, strategic thinking to storyboard compelling technical narratives.
- Strong critical thinking skills to identify and correct technical, logical, and other errors.
- Excellent writing ability, including a strong command of grammar, flow, tone, and conciseness.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- High attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
- Strong drive to deliver, improve, and succeed.
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines for multiple overlapping projects.
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a systems engineer, program manager, or project manager in the aerospace industry
- Deep understanding of spacecraft systems and engineering principles.
- Experience writing proposals to NASA or the DoW.
