Job Summary:

The Senior Project Manager for Voyager Space Solutions is responsible for planning and executing projects from concept to completion, ensuring all phases are managed effectively, while developing customer relationships, coordinating with technical teams, managing budgets and schedules, and providing regular status reports to stakeholders.

The position reports to the VP of Project & Mission Management and is part of the Program Management department. This role is hybrid and based in Webster, Tx.

In this role, the essential functions are:

  • Developing and overseeing project scope, schedule, and budget;
  • Providing regular reporting to project teams and executive leadership;
  • Proactively identifying and mitigating scope creep;
  • Leading cross-functional teams including technical and project staff; training and mentoring project management staff; managing customer relationships;
  • Supporting comprehensive project proposals; and
  • Overseeing supplier relationships and contract requirements.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, aerospace, chemical engineering, physics, materials science, computer science/engineering, mathematics, or business
  • Master's degree or equivalent preferred
  • PMP credential required within 6 months of hire.

Experience:

  • Experience with common project management frameworks, tools, and software.
  • Experience working with government and commercial aerospace customers, with familiarity with launch vehicles and/or payload development.
  • Experience working with CubeSats, Small Satellites, or other platforms or payloads designed for operation in space (design, build, test, analysis, launch, operation, etc.).
  • 5–10 years of experience leading projects encompassing full project lifecycle management including scope, schedule, budget, risk management, and stakeholder reporting.
  • Experience leading high-performing cross-functional teams including technical and project staff, with demonstrated ability to train, coach, and mentor team members.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience or familiarity with biological or chemical processes, basic laboratory principles and techniques, or the ability to quickly gain knowledge with biological or chemical processes.

Travel, Physical and/or Government Mandated Requirements:

  • Travel up to 30%, including the possibility of overnights within the continental United States.
  • Ability to lift, move or carry items or equipment up to 10 pounds.
