The Role
The Senior Project Engineer for Voyager’s Strategic Systems line of business is responsible for leading the end-to-end execution of solid rocket motor design and manufacturing programs — from concept through qualification — ensuring delivery on cost, schedule, and technical performance commitments.
This position reports to the Program Manager, Solid Rocket Motors and is part of Voyager’s Strategic Systems line of business based in Penrose/Pueblo, Colorado. This role is onsite in Penrose/Pueblo, Colorado.
Essential Functions
In this role, the essential functions are:
- Lead execution of solid rocket motor design and manufacturing programs from proposal through qualification, owning/reporting schedule, cost (via earned value management principles), and technical performance from day one.
- Serve as the primary technical interface with customers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders — driving alignment on requirements, risks, and program status.
- Manage the development of the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and maintain baseline control through design, development, test, and production phases.
- Identify, assess, and drive mitigation of program risks and technical issues; escalate unresolved constraints proactively to program leadership.
