Job Overview
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Intern to work alongside our manufacturing engineering team on impactful, project-based assignments that improve how we build and deliver our autonomous service vessels. You will be involved in real-world manufacturing challenges at the intersection of robotics, defense, and innovation.
Responsibilities
Assist in hands-on projects to improve manufacturing efficiency and processes
Conduct time studies and analyze production workflows
Support floor organization and lean manufacturing initiatives
Design and implement light tooling or fixtures to assist in assembly or fabrication
Analyze and improve manufacturing data and documentation systems
Work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and fabrication teams
Qualifications
Pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
Strong interest in hands-on manufacturing and process improvement
Previous manufacturing experience is a plus, but not required
Eagerness to learn, collaborate, and take initiative in a fast-paced environment
Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
This role requires full-time in office presence (40 hours/week) based at our headquarters in Austin, TX, from May through August 2027
Physical Demands
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Occasional standing and walking within the office
Manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment
Visual acuity to read screens, documents, and reports
Occasional reaching, bending, or stooping to access file drawers, cabinets, or office supplies
Lifting and carrying items up to 20 pounds occasionally (e.g., office supplies, packages)
