THE ROLE
We are seeking a Senior Manager of Army Business Development to help drive Privateer’s growth across the U.S. Army and aligned Department of Defense customers. This role will shape and execute growth strategies that connect Privateer’s differentiated capabilities to high-priority national security missions, with an initial focus on PAE-Maneuver, Army Aviation, UAS/C-UAS, PAE Fires, and the Huntsville market, while identifying opportunities to expand into adjacent mission areas, acquisition organizations, and defense markets.
Working closely with Privateer’s technical, product, and executive teams, you will help translate customer mission needs into compelling opportunities and shape how Privateer brings emerging capabilities to the Army. WHAT YOU’LL DO
Drive growth across the U.S. Army market by generating and capturing new business opportunities aligned with Privateer’s strategic priorities and revenue objectives.Own the business development lifecycle across assigned accounts and mission areas, from customer engagement and opportunity identification through qualification, shaping, capture, and transition to execution.Develop deep customer intimacy by maintaining continuous engagement with current and prospective Army customers and understanding their mission priorities, organizational structures, acquisition strategies, programmatic roadmaps, and technical needs.Build and manage a qualified opportunity pipeline by monitoring customer buying cycles, identifying emerging requirements, assessing market potential, and prioritizing opportunities based on strategic and revenue impact.Shape opportunities early and develop winning strategies by engaging customers and partners to understand emerging mission needs and positioning Privateer’s capabilities before formal acquisition or capture activities begin.Partner with engineering, product, and technical leadership to translate customer challenges into differentiated solutions, inform technology and product development priorities, and guide concepts from early customer engagement through program transition.Lead strategic capture and pursuit efforts, including selected Other Transaction Agreements (OTAs), by developing capture strategies, coordinating cross-functional teams, and positioning Privateer for successful outcomes.Develop and execute customer and account strategies through targeted engagements, executive relationships, demonstrations, partner development, and other activities that strengthen customer relationships and advance opportunities.Assess the competitive and partner landscape to identify market dynamics, teaming opportunities, competitive advantages, and potential organizational conflicts of interest that inform pursuit strategy.Serve as the voice of the customer internally by translating evolving mission needs and customer feedback into actionable insights that inform revenue forecasts, technology development, product priorities, and overall growth strategy.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors Degree in related field.
- Active Secret clearance, with the ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI eligibility.
Ability to travel up to 25-50%.10+ years of sales, business development, capture, proposal, acquisition, and/or operational experience within the Department of War or U.S. Army environment.Experience in a relevant technical area, such as aviation, fires, autonomy, or counter-autonomous systems, and/or an Army acquisition organization such as ACC, PAE-Maneuver, or PAE-Fires.Experience developing and executing strategic plans.Prior experience with aviation, fires, robotic, and/or autonomous systems.Experience working with technical partners and engineering teams.Ability to engage effectively with a wide range of U.S. defense and international customers.Ability to provide a nonproprietary deal sheet describing opportunities led or supported and their outcomes.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s Degree.Expertise in at least one Army market beyond PAE Maneuver.Experience with CRM platforms such as Salesforce, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office applications.Deep knowledge of at least one technical discipline, such as cloud services, software development, networks, digital modernization, or contested logistics.Experience with government business development, contracting structures, and proposal processes.Defense capture experience involving robotic, autonomous, or software-defined capabilities.STEM background
COMPENSATION
US Salary Range: $160,000.00-200,000.00
The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Equity grants are included in the majority of full time offers, and are considered part of Privateer’s total compensation package.
