  • Build scalable monthly reporting from 500k shipments using Salesforce, ERP

About the Role

The Manager of FP&A will build upon the foundation of the company’s existing FP&A models to improve planning, management reporting, and strategic initiatives that increase product margin. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this role will initially operate as a hands-on individual contributor and work directly with the FP&A Director on management-level reporting and deeper analysis.

  • The role is based in Canada, is fully remote, and supports an internationally distributed team.

  • Within approximately six months, the role is expected to help build out analyst support and transition recurring work as the FP&A function scales.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage and continue to build revenue forecasting models across multiple products, incorporating stakeholder inputs, operating drivers, and business implications.

  • Build labor and non-labor forecasts, including professional services, software, travel and entertainment, and other operating expenses; connect these plans to a three-statement model.

  • Run quarterly forecast cycles, refresh models, map accounts, and understand how operating assumptions flow through the P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statement.

  • Partner with the FP&A Director to build management-level reporting, expand earlier reporting versions with more detailed analysis, and translate findings into recommendations.

  • Define data requirements, identify the right source systems, and coordinate with RevOps, Data, Product, Operations, and Finance Systems teams to collect and validate the inputs needed for each workflow.

  • Build scalable monthly reporting and model drivers from approximately 500,000 monthly shipments by combining Salesforce, internal data lake, ERP, and other finance-system data into reliable analytical outputs.

  • Investigate product margin performance at the transaction, jurisdiction, and shipping-lane levels, including taxes and duties, and translate findings into recommendations that support margin improvement.

What We’re Looking For

  • Five to seven years of FP&A experience, with strong experience in budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, financial modeling, and management reporting.

  • A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

  • Advanced Excel skills and experience using AI to build financial models, develop prototypes, analyze data, and automate data flows. AI experience is a required capability for this role.

  • The ability to work from outcomes rather than step-by-step instructions, take an incomplete model or 20–30% starting point, ask the right questions, and drive the work to a complete, defensible solution.

  • Experience managing business partners across functions and communicating clearly with senior leaders; experience working directly with executives is helpful.

  • Strong data fluency and the ability to define requirements and coordinate workflows across teams. Experience with QuickBooks or NetSuite and BI platforms such as Tableau, Looker, or similar tools is helpful.

  • Big Four experience or FP&A experience in a public-company environment is preferred. Direct shipping or logistics experience is not required.

  • A curious, self-directed, and collaborative working style, with the judgment to work independently and the discipline to communicate assumptions, risks, and recommendations.

Success Milestones

  • 30 days: Shadow key workflows, document existing processes, ask thoughtful questions, and absorb the business, systems, environment, and stakeholder relationships.

  • 60 days: Begin taking ownership of recurring monthly work and build or improve reporting and processes that do not yet exist.

  • 90 days: Have a documented operating routine, the day-to-day work under control, and a clear understanding of the company’s trajectory and the FP&A team’s goals.

  • 6 months: Own monthly FP&A processes, actively take ownership of quarterly processes, and drive assigned projects from an ambiguous starting point to a completed solution with agreed touchpoints and feedback. Begin supporting the addition of a Junior or Senior Analyst.

  • 12 months: Own the full monthly and quarterly FP&A cycles, with an analyst producing recurring analytics. Partner with the FP&A of Finance on annual planning and strategic FP&A initiatives.
