Role

Technicians support the build, integration, and test of hardware used in parabolic and phased-array antenna systems. The role focuses on assembling precision subassemblies and integrating them into complete antenna units used for ground-based satellite communications. The position is intended for early-career individuals with strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn manufacturing processes quickly.


Responsibilities

  • Assemble mechanical and electromechanical subassemblies for antenna systems.

  • Integrate subassemblies into complete parabolic and phased-array antenna assemblies.

  • Perform mechanical alignment, fastening, and structural integration using hand and power tools.

  • Follow engineering drawings, assembly instructions, and build documentation.

  • Conduct basic verification checks including fit, alignment, and functional inspection.

  • Support prototype builds and iterative hardware development.

  • Maintain clean and organized workspaces, tools, and hardware inventory.

  • Document build steps, issues, and deviations during assembly.

  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to improve assembly processes.


Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of mechanical and/or electromechanical assembly experience

  • Ability to travel weekly or monthly as needed

  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude (hands-on projects, shop work, robotics, automotive work, etc.).

  • Ability to read and follow mechanical drawings or assembly instructions.

  • Experience using common hand tools and shop equipment.

  • Comfort working with precision components and small mechanical assemblies.

  • Strong attention to detail and quality of workmanship.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced hardware development environment.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical training, trade school, community college coursework, or equivalent hands-on experience.

  • Exposure to mechanical assembly, electronics assembly, or manufacturing environments.

  • Experience with torque tools, fasteners, adhesives, or cable routing.

  • Familiarity with prototyping tools such as 3D printers, mills, drill presses, or bandsaws.

  • Basic understanding of RF hardware or antenna systems.
