Pylon Automates Support-to-Code Pipelines as B2B Customer Base Expands

By Zero G Talent•

Pylon has integrated its customer support platform directly with Cognition's autonomous AI software engineer, Devin, formalizing a workflow that hands support bugs straight to an automated agent to investigate and draft code fixes.

As detailed by Quasa.io, the October 2026 integration routes customer tickets through a six-stage escalation pipeline. Pylon workflows identify reproducible bugs and attach escalation tags, triggering Devin to inspect code repositories, consult monitoring logs, and open pull requests. Human engineers maintain review and merge control before code changes reach production, while status updates stream back to the original Pylon ticket.

The release arrives during a period of steady commercial adoption. According to Outlook Business, Pylon now serves more than 750 B2B customers, including ElevenLabs, Together.ai, and Linear, alongside earlier design partners like Hightouch, Merge, and Sardine.

Rebuilding the B2B Support Stack Around Chat

Founded in 2022 and backed by Y Combinator's W23 batch, Pylon is designed as an alternative to legacy support software like Zendesk, built specifically for B2B operations.

Where legacy platforms focus on email ticketing, modern enterprise software companies coordinate with clients in shared messaging channels. Pylon pulls together post-sales workflows across Slack Connect, Microsoft Teams, Discord, in-app chat widgets, and email into an event-driven workflow engine. The platform provides ticketing, AI agents, an AI knowledge base, account intelligence, and customer marketing tools.

Under the hood, the company runs on Golang, GraphQL, React, and AWS infrastructure, processing conversational data to trigger real-time operational routing. Headquartered in San Francisco, CA, US, Pylon has raised Series A funding from investors including Andreessen Horowitz, Shield Capital, CRV, Toyota Ventures, Upfront, 8VC, Point72 Ventures, and Bain Capital Ventures.

Engineering Leadership and Team Background

Pylon was founded by three engineers who met through their undergraduate studies:

  • Marty Kausas, Chief Executive Officer, studied computer science at Purdue University. Kausas started writing software in middle school, built competitive robotics in high school, and developed products through collegiate hackathons.
  • Advith Chelikani earned a BS in Computer Science from Caltech between 2014 and 2018. Before co-founding Pylon, he spent four years at Samsara from 2018 to 2022 as a Senior Software Engineer and Team Lead through its IPO. Chelikani was named to Forbes’ 2026 AI 30 Under 30 list and the INDIA New England News 40 Under 40 list.
  • Robert Eng graduated from Caltech in 2018 with a degree in Computer Science and History. Eng was also recognized alongside Chelikani on Forbes' 2026 30 Under 30 list.

Balancing AI Capabilities with Infrastructure Costs

The mechanics of running high-volume AI tooling inside a software startup became a public discussion point for Pylon in mid-2026.

As reported by Business Insider, Kausas stated that the startup faced an Anthropic bill increasing from $400,000 to $1.4 million annually as the company approached 150 seats and entered enterprise tier pricing. Kausas publicly noted that the "era of tokenmaxxing is coming to an end," advocating for internal visibility after personally spending $4,000 across three days using Claude Code.

Pylon responded by introducing token spend limits for non-technical staff and requiring approval workflows for extra support tokens, while maintaining broad model access for core development. "If we told engineers that they were not allowed to use AI products, they would not work here," Kausas told Business Insider. "It would feel like you were in the Stone Age."
