FurtherAI Scales Insurance Automation Across 10 Major US Carriers and Expands Enterprise Team

FurtherAI was named AI Implementation of the Year at the 2026 Insurance Insider US Honors, as reported by FinancialContent. The company is now active inside 10 of the top 25 insurance organizations in the United States, running more than 500,000 workflows annually.

Founded in 2023, the startup develops AI agents designed to automate operational processes across the insurance policy lifecycle. The company raised a $5 million seed round from South Park Commons, Nexus Venture Partners, Y Combinator, Converge VC, and Pioneer Fund, followed by a $25 million Series A led by Andreessen Horowitz, reported by Forbes.

Automating Back-Office Insurance Workflows

Insurance carriers, managing general agents (MGAs), brokers, and wholesalers handle large volumes of unstructured data across disconnected portals. FurtherAI builds specialized software assistants to handle tasks such as submission intake, policy comparisons, underwriting audits, claims validations, and form processing.

The platform ingests unstructured documents, parses relevant policy and claims details, flags inconsistencies, and executes data entry directly into internal carrier systems or third-party web portals. The system also supports voice automation to handle phone calls required for specific operational workflows. By running these tasks in the background, client teams shift manual audit and intake duties toward underwriting judgment and customer service.

Founded by IIT Bombay Alumni

Co-founders Aman Gour (CEO) and Sashank Gondala (CTO) met more than 12 years ago during their undergraduate studies in computer science at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay.

Gour previously co-founded TurboHire, an automation platform for recruitment where he served as Chief Product Officer and grew annual recurring revenue past $1 million. Before that, he worked as a product manager at Microsoft. Gour brings roughly a decade of software experience centered on workflow automation across different enterprise industries.

Gondala completed a master’s degree in computer science with a focus on machine learning at Georgia Tech, conducting multimodal AI research alongside institutional scientists. He then worked as a language modeling scientist at Apple, where he built and scaled language models for Siri before co-founding FurtherAI.

Enterprise Distribution and International Expansion

Over the course of 2026, FurtherAI expanded its commercial operations across North America and Europe. In May 2026, the company entered the London market by appointing Tom Bradley to lead UK and EU operations, reported by Insurance Business. The move established a local presence to serve carriers, MGAs, and brokers across the Lloyd's marketplace, building on existing client partnerships with companies such as Accelerant, Upland, and Novacore.

In August 2026, FurtherAI appointed Zachary Hirsch as Senior Vice President of Sales to direct its commercial team, reported by The Manila Times. Hirsch previously spent several years scaling the commercial sales organization at Verkada as its business expanded past $1 billion in revenue.

During the same month, FurtherAI integrated with Microsoft Azure by launching on the Microsoft Marketplace, reported by Yahoo Finance. The listing enables carriers and brokers to deploy the software within their existing Microsoft Outlook and SharePoint enterprise infrastructures. "By meeting insurers inside a Microsoft environment they already use, FurtherAI fits into workflows our customers have already built, rather than asking them to build something new," said Gondala.

Where FurtherAI Is Hiring

To support its carrier deployments and international footprint, FurtherAI is hiring across software engineering, customer deployment, and enterprise sales.

The technical organization is hiring on-site at its San Francisco headquarters for roles including Senior Software Engineer - Backend/Fullstack ($180,000–$250,000 USD) and Frontend Engineer - Web ($120,000–$210,000 USD). It also employs a distributed engineering team in India through remote positions for frontend and fullstack engineers.

Customer integration teams are expanding through positions such as Forward Deployed Engineer ($120,000–$180,000 USD) and Solutions Engineer ($155,000–$180,000 USD). These engineers work directly with enterprise IT stacks and carrier partners to connect data pipelines into internal systems.

On the commercial side, the company is filling hybrid and on-site sales positions, including an Enterprise Account Executive ($100,000–$175,000 USD) open to San Francisco, Chicago, or New York, along with San Francisco-based roles across customer success, marketing, and design.
