Company Overview:
We are building Protege to solve the biggest unmet need in AI — getting access to the right training data. The process today is time intensive, incredibly expensive, and often ends in failure. The Protege platform facilitates the secure, efficient, and privacy-centric exchange of AI training data.
Solving AI’s data problem is a generational opportunity. We’re backed by world-class investors and already powering partnerships with some of the most ambitious teams in AI. The company that succeeds will be one of the largest in AI — and in tech.
We’re a lean, fast-moving, high-trust team of builders who are obsessed with velocity and impact. Our culture is built for people who thrive on ambiguity, own outcomes, and want to shape the future of data and AI.
The Role:
Build partnerships that bring differentiated wearable and consumer health data into AI development. You will combine domain expertise with commercial judgment to qualify partners, move datasets through evaluation, and grow the value of the portfolio.
What you will do
Qualify wearable device makers, consumer health apps, and other data owners across heart monitoring, fitness, sleep, nutrition, and metabolic health.
Assess what makes each dataset useful: sensor signals, sampling frequency, longitudinal coverage, device consistency, missing data, and available clinical or user-reported context.
Coordinate NDAs, representative samples, and DataLab review; translate findings into clear partner priorities and next steps.
Work with Commercial on pricing, licensing structures, and statements of work, and coordinate activation with Healthcare Operations and Solutions.
Maintain trusted partner relationships, surface underused data assets to internal teams, and develop partnerships that address customer demand and portfolio gaps.
What you bring
Experience in partnerships, business development, or data licensing within wearables or consumer health, with a track record of advancing external relationships into execution.
Working knowledge of continuous sensor metrics, activity and workout logs, user-reported data, and more; able to ask credible questions about quality, coverage, AI relevance, and licensing rights. Knowledge of the wearable and lifestyle data landscape and the platforms that hold differentiated datasets.
Ability to identify consent, privacy, and licensing questions and coordinate their resolution with the appropriate internal reviewers.
Strong prioritization, ownership mentality, and communication across commercial, technical, and operational teams; comfortable building structure in an early-stage environment.
Experience with healthcare data partnerships, AI data use cases, or sample data assessments.

About Protege
The biggest unmet need in AI today is getting access to the right training data. Data holders often don’t know where to start and are rightly concerned about governance, intellectual property, and security implications. AI companies can spend years finding and negotiating access to the data they need. Protege is solving these problems by providing an easy-to-use platform to connect data holders with vetted data users.
