Job Description
Pylon is the only agentic support platform, purpose-built for B2B companies. For leaders scaling AI-native support teams, Pylon lets humans and agents collaborate on customer work – investigating, resolving, and acting on every signal across every channel that matters.
Pylon is looking for a Marketing Operations Lead to own the engine room of our marketing function: the martech stack, campaign hierarchy, lead scoring and routing, and the data hygiene that determines how well marketing-generated demand converts into pipeline.
We’re a Series B company, and you’d join as our dedicated Marketing Ops hire, the third leg of the Revenue Operations org, alongside Sales Ops and CS Ops, under our Head of Revenue Operations. As the only person focused solely on marketing ops, you’ll take ambiguous requests from across the team and turn them into durable systems, automation, and reporting, not one-off fixes. You’ll also own one of our biggest current investments: we’ve bought Marketo, and you’ll lead the implementation, architecting programs, wiring the Salesforce sync, and migrating our top-of-funnel and nurture motions onto it.
WHAT YOU’LL DO 📌
Own the martech stack: Administer and improve our marketing tools, including Marketo, Customer.io, Unify, UserGems, Sequel, Hightouch, Clay, Navattic, and Hex, alongside Salesforce, keeping them integrated, clean, and trusted, and partnering with Sales on Amplemarket.
Own campaign hierarchy: Maintain a clean, consistent campaign hierarchy in Salesforce so every webinar, paid campaign, event, and sponsorship rolls up correctly into channel and pipeline reporting.
Own lead routing and speed to lead: Design and iterate lead scoring, lead-to-account matching, and routing logic with Sales Ops, including inbound SDR assignment, account-owner continuity, recycling and disposition, abandoned-demo flows, and closed-lost buffers, so the right leads reach the right rep fast.
Own lead source, channel taxonomy, and attribution: Maintain the lead source and MQL data model, including channel classification and funnel-stage (MOF/BOF) tagging, and resolve unattributed opps, missing UTMs, and duplicate records so the team can trust what’s driving pipeline.
Keep tracking honest: Manage Google Tag Manager and ad-platform APIs, build and maintain paid audiences (retargeting, exclusion, suppression), and use tools like Hockeystack and Bizible to build attribution models the team can trust.
Run the lead, MQL, and event lifecycle: Own the MQL to S1 to S2 funnel end to end, including event and webinar operations (registration, member-status sync, enrichment, booking links, and MQL handoff to inbound SDRs), with enrichment running reliably across every source.
Own email deliverability: Keep marketing sends landing in the inbox, sending-domain health, SPF/DKIM/DMARC, list hygiene, and deliverability issues before they affect reach.
Own data privacy and consent: Keep collection and consent compliant across marketing systems (GDPR, CCPA), preferences, suppression, and opt-outs, so we grow without compliance risk.
Put AI to work across ops: Use AI and automation to remove manual, error-prone steps across enrichment, data cleanup, routing, reporting, and lifecycle workflows.
Build reporting the team trusts: Partner with RevOps and Data on how marketing metrics are modeled and presented, including MQL/S1/S2 pacing against targets.
Partner across RevOps, and own the budget: Align with Sales Ops, CS Ops, and the Head of RevOps on shared funnel definitions, handoffs, and SLAs, manage marketing ops spend, and be the team’s go-to for systems, reporting, and enablement, including self-serve Hex dashboards.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE 🎯
The funnel is measured cleanly end to end: generated opportunities, qualified opportunities, and MQLs tracked accurately and trusted across the team.
Conversion rates improve at every stage as you tighten scoring, routing, lifecycle, and data quality.
Marketing’s contribution to the pipeline is clear and defensible at any moment.
WHO YOU ARE 💼
Deep Marketo expertise, a hard requirement: you know the platform inside and out (forms, lists, program architecture, scoring, nurture, integrations) and have run it end to end. We will not consider candidates without hands-on Marketo experience.
5-7 years in Marketing Operations or Revenue Operations, ideally in B2B SaaS, comfortable both building a report and explaining what it means for the business.
Salesforce expertise, required: hands-on admin experience, including the Campaign object, campaign hierarchies, and reporting and dashboards.
Lead scoring and routing: a proven track record designing scoring models, lead-to-account matching, and routing logic in B2B SaaS.
AI fluency: you actively use AI tools to work faster and build better processes, this is core to how the role operates, not a nice-to-have.
Systems thinker: you fix the underlying system rather than patching one-off issues.
Clear communicator: you explain technical and data concepts to non-technical stakeholders who need answers, not jargon.
Operates autonomously: as the sole owner of marketing ops, you run a live request queue while shipping a multi-month platform project, and translate vague asks into the right system, automation, or report.
You’re in SF or willing to relocate, you love working in person.
(Bonus) Prior experience leading a full MAP implementation or migration.
(Bonus) Experience with other MAPs (Customer.io or equivalent) alongside Marketo.
(Bonus) GTM/ad-platform tracking depth plus attribution tools (Hockeystack, Bizible).
(Bonus) BI comfort in Hex (or Looker/Tableau) to partner with RevOps and Data on how metrics get modeled.
(Bonus) SQL comfort, able to query a data warehouse (Snowflake, BigQuery, or similar) for ad hoc analysis.
(Bonus) Experience with intent/signal tools (Unify, UserGems) or CDP/data-activation tools (Sequel, Hightouch).
(Bonus) You’ve partnered with dedicated Sales Ops and/or CS Ops before.
