Job Description
About TrueFoundry
Every production AI system, whether it's powering customer support, writing code, analyzing financial data, or diagnosing medical conditions, needs the same foundational infrastructure. A way to route between models. A way to manage tools and integrate them securely. A way to orchestrate agents and enforce governance. A unified compute layer to run it all.
That infrastructure layer is being built right now.
We're TrueFoundry, and we're building it. We're looking for a Head of Outcome Engineer to join the team.
The Problem We're Solving
Companies are moving beyond simple chatbots to production agentic systems. These systems route between OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and self-hosted models. They integrate dozens of tools via protocols like MCP. They orchestrate multi-agent workflows where agents coordinate with other agents.
The infrastructure to support this doesn't exist yet. You can't just duct-tape together a few API calls and call it production-ready.
You need a control plane that handles:
- Intelligent routing with observability, cost policies, and fallback logic
- Centralized tool and MCP server management with security and lifecycle controls
- Agent orchestration with governance and guardrails
- A unified compute layer to run self-hosted models, custom tools, and agents
We've built two products to solve this:
AI Gateway is the control plane, a five-composable components (Prompts, LLM Gateway, MCP Gateway, Guardrails, Agent Gateway) that handle routing, orchestration, and governance.
AI Deploy is the compute layer, a Kubernetes-based platform that abstracts ML workloads as standard software primitives, so everything runs on unified infrastructure.
We're Series A, backed by Intel Capital and Sequoia. Companies like CVS, Mastercard, Siemens, Paytm, Synopsys, and Zscaler run production AI workloads on our platform.
The Role
As Head of Outcome Engineering, you’ll lead the engineering, delivery, and team-building functions of our enterprise outcomes initiatives.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Owning the technical delivery of high-impact, GenAI-powered solutions across multiple verticals — ensuring excellence in engineering, ML, and domain execution.
- Building and leading a high-performing engineering and applied ML team that ships projects reliably, repeatably, and scalably.
- Developing domain-aligned technical frameworks, reusable components, and solution templates to reduce service effort and accelerate time-to-value.
- Partnering closely with the Head of Enterprise Outcomes to align delivery with strategic vertical bets, client goals, and product feedback loops.
- Driving a culture of quality, repeatability, and financial discipline in how solutions are scoped, staffed, and shipped.
What You’ll Own
Engineering Delivery & Excellence
- Oversee delivery of ML/GenAI solutions that meet business outcomes with world-class engineering rigor.
- Ensure outcomes are production-grade, scalable, and referenceable.
- Act as technical sponsor for top accounts and POCs.
Repeatability & Platform Impact
- Build accelerators, templates, and tools that reduce effort across future engagements (e.g., Cognita apps, domain-specific evals, RAG pipelines).
- Codify delivery best practices into solution playbooks that can be reused across customers.
- Channel structured technical feedback into product roadmap conversations with TrueFoundry platform teams.
Operational and Team Leadership
- Hire, grow, and manage a pipeline of engineering talent to support services without compromising margins.
- Own resourcing, forecasting, and execution across all delivery projects.
- Build systems for timeline reliability, knowledge reuse, and cost-effective staffing.
Who You Are
- You’ve built and led Applied ML teams at some of the large tech companies. Ideally, you have also led research and / or engineering at startups.
- You are deeply hands-on with ML, GenAI, systems design, and are opinionated about repeatable architectures for AI delivery.
- You care about customer outcomes, but measure success by how repeatable and product-integrated the delivery is.
- You thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments where strategy, execution, and feedback loops happen in tight cycles.
- You’re passionate about building not just great solutions — but the org, processes, and playbooks that make them scale.
Why Join TrueFoundry
- Build TrueFoundry’s Enterprise Outcomes Engineering function from the ground up — with founders and GTM leaders fully invested.
- Work on deeply strategic projects with enterprise leaders across healthcare, manufacturing, retail, and more.
- Define how engineering delivery intersects with GenAI product building at scale.
- Join a Series A-backed company shaping the future of AI application infrastructure.
