Job Description
We're hiring our first Founding Engineer.
As an early engineer, you'll have significant ownership over the products you build, the technical direction of the company, and the impact those products have on customers.
Everything you build will be used by real organizations solving real problems. You'll work across the entire engineering stack, from product design and AI systems to backend infrastructure, integrations, and deployment.
We're a small, fast-moving team. We learn quickly, ship quickly, and continuously adapt based on customer feedback. If you're excited by ambiguity, ownership, and building products that matter, you'll feel at home here.
What You'll Do
You'll work directly with customers to understand how they operate, identify high-impact opportunities for AI, and build production systems that solve meaningful business problems.
You'll own customer engagements end-to-end, from discovery and solution design to implementation, deployment, and ongoing iteration.
Beyond client work, you'll help improve Soren itself by building internal tooling, automating workflows, and refining the systems that allow us to deliver increasingly powerful solutions to every customer.
Responsibilities
- Build, deploy, and maintain production AI agents and intelligent software systems.
- Translate ambiguous customer problems into reliable, production-ready solutions.
- Design and implement backend and full-stack applications using modern technologies.
- Integrate with customer software, APIs, databases, and enterprise systems.
- Prototype quickly, iterate with customers, and continuously improve deployed systems.
- Own reliability, security, and performance across customer deployments.
- Improve Soren's internal platform, development workflows, and delivery processes.
- Turn lessons learned from customer engagements into reusable tools, frameworks, and products.
You Should Join If You
- Have meaningful experience building AI systems or conducting applied AI research.
- Are an exceptional engineer who enjoys solving difficult, open-ended problems.
- Thrive in fast-moving, ambiguous, 0→1 environments.
- Care deeply about building software that creates real value for customers.
- Enjoy working directly with users and understanding how they think and work.
- Learn quickly, take ownership, and execute with minimal direction.
- Want to help define both the product and the engineering culture of an early-stage company.
About Soren
Soren is the AI transformation partner for regulated industries.
We work with organizations that operate in highly regulated environments to deploy secure, production-grade AI systems.
Rather than forcing organizations to change how they work, we build AI around their existing workflows, institutional knowledge, and security requirements. We develop custom AI agents, intelligent automations, and enterprise AI infrastructure that integrate seamlessly into how teams already operate.
Our goal is simple: make AI genuinely useful by solving economically meaningful problems.
Why Join Us
We're entering a once-in-a-generation shift in how knowledge work gets done.
For years, organizations have invested heavily in AI with relatively modest returns. In many cases, the technology wasn't the problem—the implementation was. Existing AI tools often require people to change established workflows or adapt years of expertise to generic software.
We believe the opposite approach is the future.
Instead of asking people to work like AI, we build AI that works like people.
By deeply understanding how organizations operate, we create systems that augment existing expertise rather than replace it. The result is software that people actually adopt, trust, and rely on every day.
At the same time, advances in AI now make it possible to deliver enterprise-grade, private AI solutions faster than ever before. Organizations that once couldn't justify custom software can now deploy intelligent systems in weeks instead of years.
If you're excited about building technology that has immediate impact, working directly with customers, and helping define how AI transforms critical industries over the next decade, we'd love to work with you.
