About Reflex
Reflex helps teams build, deploy, and manage production applications in Python. We’re hiring a Deployment Strategist to lead customer deployments and turn operational problems into measurable business outcomes.
About the role
You’ll own business outcomes and ongoing relationships with customer business stakeholders, working from discovery through delivery and adoption. You’ll uncover operational problems, translate them into prioritized application requirements, and coordinate customers, Forward Deployed Engineers, and Customer Success. You’ll also own customer case studies and develop the evidence and use cases that support valuable account expansion.
You’ll lead Deployment with executive oversight from the CTO.
What you’ll do
- Discover and prioritize valuable use cases. Interview executives and end users, map workflows and data dependencies, establish baseline performance and success measures, and agree on a prioritized roadmap with the customer.
- Own business-stakeholder relationships. Run business reviews, maintain stakeholder context and action plans, and address concerns about delivery, adoption outcomes, and value. Coordinate executive sponsorship and commercial escalations with the Account Executive.
- Turn ambiguity into clear requirements. Write workflow requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria. Partner with Forward Deployed Engineers on feasibility and milestones, maintain business priorities, and secure timely customer decisions.
- Lead deployment coordination. Run planning sessions, demos, and outcome reviews across Forward Deployed Engineers and Customer Success. Track dependencies, risks, and scope changes, and resolve competing priorities with input on technical feasibility and capacity.
- Measure adoption and ROI. Partner with Customer Success on rollout and adoption. Measure outcomes against the baseline, validate assumptions with the customer, and distinguish time freed from realized financial savings.
- Own customer case studies. Document the problem, solution, measurable results, and ROI, and validate the facts with the customer. Drive case studies through completion with Marketing supporting writing, design, and publishing and the Account Executive coordinating customer approval.
- Shape product improvements. Bring concrete examples of user friction, recurring needs, and product gaps to Platform engineers and the Head of Engineering. Help validate proposed changes with customers and share their impact after release.
- Develop expansion opportunities. Identify new workflows and user groups, validate their value, scope opportunities with Forward Deployed Engineers, and develop the value case for Account Executive proposals.
How you’ll work with the team
You own deployment priorities, team coordination, business-stakeholder relationships, customer outcomes, and evidence of value. Forward Deployed Engineers own technical execution. Account Executives own executive sponsorship, commercial relationships, pricing, and closing. Customer Success owns onboarding, training, adoption tracking, and day-to-day support.
As the team grows, you and the Forward Deployed Engineers will share Customer Success coverage and coordinate clear account-level handoffs. You’ll work with the Head of Engineering on shared Platform dependencies; the Head of Engineering owns Platform roadmap priorities and delivery.
What you bring
- At least 2 years of professional experience.
- Experience leading deployment teams or customer implementation projects and delivering measurable business outcomes.
- Ability to turn ambiguous problems into clear requirements and decisions.
- Technical fluency with APIs, databases, integrations, and application workflows.
- Strong facilitation, analytical thinking, and executive communication.
- Ideally, experience working at a startup or in consulting.
Helpful experience includes Python or SQL, enterprise change management, and developing credible business cases.
How success is measured
- Agreed customer outcomes and sustained workflow adoption.
- Clear priorities, acceptance criteria, and timely customer decisions.
- Actionable product feedback and customer validation after release.
- Validated ROI evidence, accurate customer case studies, and feasible expansion opportunities.
Your first 90 days
- First 30 days: Learn the product and customer workflows; agree on a baseline and success measures.
- Days 31–60: Own discovery, backlog priorities, stakeholder coordination, and milestone reviews.
- Days 61–90: Review delivered outcomes and adoption, develop a customer case study when results are available, and recommend the next use cases with supporting evidence.
