Job Description
About the role
Pocket is looking for a talented Visual Designer / Design Generalist with a strong eye for aesthetics, detail, and high-quality execution.
You will work across a wide range of creative projects—from paid advertising, social media, and marketing campaigns to landing pages, web visuals, product presentations, and brand assets. You will also support Pocket’s existing designers and senior designers, helping the team move faster and maintain a consistently high visual standard as the company scales.
This is a hands-on role in a fast-moving environment where priorities can change quickly. You do not need to know everything on day one. What matters most is that you can learn quickly, take feedback well, execute reliably, and care deeply about the quality of the final work.
What you'll own
- High-quality visual assets for paid ads, social media, website, email, and marketing campaigns
- Conversion-focused creative concepts and iterations for promotions and performance marketing
- Support for active design projects and overflow work across the design and growth teams
- Visuals for landing pages, websites, product launches, presentations, and brand materials
- Consistent application of Pocket’s visual identity across channels and formats
- Fast adaptation of creative work across different markets, campaigns, platforms, and audiences
- Collaboration with Growth, Marketing, Product, and senior designers to turn briefs into polished visual output
- Where relevant, lightweight video edits, motion content, and animated assets
- Organized design files, reusable assets, and workflows that help the team work faster over time
What we're looking for
- A strong portfolio demonstrating excellent visual taste and craft
- Strong proficiency in Figma
- A clear understanding of layout, typography, color, composition, and brand systems
- Experience designing ad creatives, marketing visuals, or social content
- The ability to create clean, compelling work quickly without sacrificing quality
- Strong attention to detail and a high bar for consistency
- The ability to take direction, incorporate feedback, and iterate constructively
- Organized, reliable, and comfortable managing several tasks at once
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A proactive, low-ego, team-oriented working style
- Curiosity, coachability, and the willingness to learn new tools and workflows quickly
- Comfort working in a high-growth startup environment with changing priorities
Nice to have
- Experience with Shopify or e-commerce creative
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects, CapCut, or similar tools
- Experience creating landing-page or website visuals
- Video editing, motion graphics, or animation experience
- Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS
- Familiarity with JavaScript or general coding concepts
- Comfort reading documentation and independently figuring out unfamiliar tools
- Experience working with a consumer technology, DTC, e-commerce, mobile app, or hardware brand
What we offer
- The opportunity to help define the visual identity of a rapidly scaling consumer technology company
- Work across a broad range of high-impact creative projects rather than one narrow design specialty
- Close collaboration with experienced designers, founders, Growth, Marketing, and Product teams
- Fast feedback loops and the opportunity to see your work directly affect company growth
- Significant room to learn, expand your responsibilities, and grow within Pocket’s design organization
- High autonomy, ownership, and exposure to a company scaling from hundreds of thousands to millions of customers
- Competitive salary, depending on experience
- Meaningful equity through Pocket’s employee stock option plan
