We're Ooak Data

Ooak Data turns company data into training data for AI agents.

Frontier labs can train models to reason. They cannot train them to work: navigating a real company's Slack threads, half-finished Notion docs, contradictory Jira tickets, and permission boundaries. That requires real enterprise data, and you cannot synthesize it. You have to source it.

We plug into enterprise tools, anonymize everything into a structurally identical digital twin, and generate reinforcement-learning environments with expert-level tasks calibrated against frontier models.

We are a Y Combinator company with 8 figures contracts signed with frontier AI labs, and we are scaling delivery aggressively over the next months.

🤝 Our values

  • Trust, the foundation of every relationship, internal and external. We extend it by default and value the ownership that comes with it.
  • Ambition, we commit, we move fast, with tenacity and efficiency.
  • Collective, team first, low ego.
  • Kindness, at the heart of every interaction.

The offer

📍 Location: United States, San Francisco preferred, hybrid

🕐 Start: as soon as you are available

💼 Contract: full-time

💰 Compensation: base + commission + equity (stock options)

✅ Your missions

This is a buy-side role, and that is what makes it unlike any other AE job you will look at this year. You are not selling software. You are convincing the CEO of a real company to let us turn their data into training data for the most advanced AI models in the world. There is no competitor pitch to beat, there is a conversation to win.

You own that cycle end to end, and you build our US presence as you go. You report directly to Grégoire (COO & co-founder).

  • Own the full deal cycle: prospecting, outreach, first calls, scoping, negotiation, signature. From a cold name to a signed data partnership.
  • Build a qualified pipeline of partner companies across our target industries, from scratch, in a market where nobody is waiting for your call.
  • Open doors at the executive level. You are talking to founders and C-levels about their most sensitive asset. You need a narrative that makes them trust us within one meeting.
  • Shape the playbook with the founders: positioning, deal structures, pricing, outbound motion. Everything you learn becomes how we sell.
  • Feed the loop. What you hear in the market shapes what we build and what we go after next.

🔍 Who we're looking for

  • 3 to 6 years in B2B sales, business development, or partnerships. You have hunted, built pipeline from nothing, and closed.
  • Proven full-cycle experience: cold outreach through negotiation to signature. Not an SDR who passed leads along, and not a closer who inherited a pipeline.
  • Strong negotiation skills, and comfort structuring creative commercial agreements rather than pushing a fixed price list.
  • You can pitch an AI company simply and credibly to a non-technical executive, in any industry, without jargon and without overselling.
  • Builder mindset: autonomous, structured, and genuinely fine without a playbook, because you are writing it.
  • High discretion. You handle sensitive commercial relationships and sensitive data conversations. People need to trust you fast.
  • Real curiosity about AI. You should want to understand how models are trained and why our data matters, because your prospects will ask.
  • Based in the US with work authorization. Fluent English mandatory.

The extras that make the difference

  • Experience in partnerships, sourcing, or procurement-style negotiations, not only classic selling.
  • Prior experience as a founding or first commercial hire.
  • You have sold something that did not exist yet, or that the buyer had never bought before.

🎁 Why join us

  • A genuinely new motion. Buy-side AI data partnerships is a category being invented right now. You will be one of the first people in the world doing this job well.
  • Founding impact: you build the US business from day one and shape our commercial culture.
  • Entrepreneurial adventure: live the early days of an ambitious company at the front line of the AI revolution.
  • Backed by Y Combinator, join just as we accelerate.
  • Benefits: health insurance and 401(k).

Interview Process

✏️ Recruitment process
