About us

Manufact builds dev-tools and cloud infrastructure for MCP and software used by AI agents.

Our platform helps teams build, deploy, test, and distribute MCP servers and apps across ChatGPT, Claude, Muse, Grok Bot, and other AI agents.

We created mcp-use SDK, the Next.js for MCP, with 10k GitHub stars and 10M+ downloads. We’re backed by Y Combinator (S25) and a $6.3M seed round led by Peak XV, with investors including the founders of Supabase.

We believe every software company will need an agent interface, just as it needs a website today.

About the role

We’re hiring our first Forward Deployed Engineer to help enterprise customers and partners go from an idea to a product running on Manufact.

You’ll work across enterprise pilots, technical partnerships and customer success. One week you might build an integration with another developer tool. The next, you’ll help a consulting partner deploy its first customer’s MCP app or get an enterprise implementation into production.

You own the technical journey from discovery through launch and adoption. That means writing code, making architecture decisions, working directly with customers, and making sure everyone follows through.

Your work is successful when the customer is actually using the product and getting value from it.

What you’ll own

  • Technical discovery and pilots. Understand the use case, define success criteria, scope the solution and build a working proof of concept.
  • Implementation through production. Build MCP servers, apps and integrations. Debug APIs, authentication and deployment issues. Test the complete flow and help customers launch.
  • Customer delivery. Treat implementation as an important feature delivery. Maintain a shared implementation roadmap, give every task an owner, run weekly check-ins, and hold both teams accountable for agreed commitments.
  • Technical customer success. Stay close after launch. Monitor adoption, resolve blockers and help customers expand their usage.
  • Partner engineering. Work with developer tools, system integrators and consultants to ship integrations and enable their teams to deliver on Manufact.
  • Make the next deployment easier. Turn repeated work into templates, documentation, reusable integrations and product improvements.

You’ll work directly with the founders and our product, infrastructure and DevRel teams, with ownership of technical delivery and customer adoption.

Who you are

  • You’ve shipped software used by real customers and can explain what happened after launch.
  • Strong TypeScript skills and experience with APIs, authentication, integrations and cloud deployment.
  • Comfortable moving between a customer call, a technical design, your editor and production debugging.
  • You take ownership. When something stalls, you identify the blocker, find the right owner and follow through.
  • Clear written and verbal communication. You can explain trade-offs to engineers and business stakeholders.
  • Good judgment about what to build, what to reuse and when to involve the core engineering team.
  • Based in or willing to relocate to San Francisco.

Experience in forward-deployed engineering, solutions engineering, partner engineering or an early-stage engineering team is useful. What matters most is evidence that you can build and get customers live.

Nice to have

  • Experience with MCP, AI agents, developer tools or infrastructure.
  • Python experience.
  • Enterprise implementations or technical customer success.
  • Open-source contributions or technical writing.

What you can expect

  • Work directly with the founders and shape a new function.
  • Equity.
  • Premium medical and dependent coverage.
  • Unlimited PTO.
  • 401(k) with company match.
  • Relocation assistance.

Interview Process

  1. Share something you built and delivered for a customer.
  2. Intro call with a founder.
  3. Technical and customer scenario: scope an MCP implementation and explain how you would get it live.
  4. Bounded paid trial with the team.
