Job Overview
We’re looking for a Head of Operations / Director of Operations to own and scale LunaJoy’s operational engine end-to-end. This is a player-coach leadership role responsible for building, optimizing, and scaling systems across clinical operations, care delivery, and revenue workflows.
You will partner cross-functionally with clinical leadership, growth, product, and finance to ensure operational excellence, strong unit economics, and scalable infrastructure as we expand.

Key Responsibilities:
- Own end-to-end operations across clinical delivery, care coordination, and revenue workflows (patient intake → care delivery → billing/reimbursement)
- Design, build, and scale operational systems, including SOPs, workflows, and playbooks across multiple states
- Build and manage provider capacity, scheduling, and utilization systems to optimize care delivery efficiency
- Define and track key operational KPIs (utilization, conversion rates, revenue per patient/provider, operational margin)
- Build dashboards and reporting systems to drive data-informed decision-making
- Lead cross-functional execution with Clinical, Product, Engineering, Sales/Partnerships, and Finance teams
- Drive operational efficiency, automation, and continuous process improvement
- Manage and scale operations teams (ops managers, care coordinators, support functions)
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, payer requirements, and clinical workflows
- Support implementation of new partnerships, service lines, and multi-state expansion initiatives
Qualifications:
- 6–10+ years of operations leadership experience with full ownership of end-to-end operations
- Experience in high-growth startups or scale-ups (Series A–C or equivalent fast-scaling environments)
- Strong background in healthcare, telehealth, behavioral health, or care delivery operations
- Experience working within regulated healthcare environments and understanding clinical workflows
- Proven ability to build and scale operational systems from scratch (0 → 1 and 1 → scale)
- Strong experience in process design, SOP creation, and operational optimization
- Data-driven operator with experience owning KPIs and building performance dashboards
- Experience working cross-functionally with clinical, product, engineering, sales, and finance teams
- Proven people leadership experience managing operations or care, delivery teams
- Strong understanding of unit economics, margin drivers, and operational efficiency
Nice to Haves:
- Experience in behavioral health, women’s health, or perinatal care
- Experience with value-based care models (BHI, CCM, RPM)
- Background in telehealth or digital health companies (e.g., Headspace Health, Lyra Health, Teladoc Health)
- Experience scaling multi-state healthcare operations
- Experience improving gross margin through operational efficiency
- Experience leading post-sales onboarding, implementation, or enterprise partnerships
- Familiarity with EHRs, CRM systems, credentialing tools, and billing/reimbursement platforms
- Experience with 1099 contractor-heavy provider models
- Familiarity with EOS (Rocks, L10 meetings, scorecards) or similar operating systems

Interview Process
Interview Process
HR Screen: The first phase involves an initial screening with HR. During this stage, we will discuss your experience, skills, and alignment with Luna Joy’s values and culture. Second Phase with Hiring Manager: Candidates who pass the HR screen will move on to an interview with the Hiring Manager. In this phase, we dive deeper into your technical abilities, role-specific competencies, and how you approach challenges. The Hiring Manager will assess your fit within the team and your ability to contribute to Luna Joy’s mission.
Offer Stage: After the second phase, successful candidates will move to the offer stage. We will present a formal offer that includes compensation, benefits, and any additional details about the role. This is also your opportunity to ask any final questions before making your decision.
Onboarding & Training: Once the offer is accepted, the onboarding process begins. You will be guided through setting up tools, learning about Luna Joy’s systems and workflows, and engaging in any role-specific training. This phase ensures a smooth transition into your new role, setting you up for success from day one.
