Job Description
What you're applying for
We're looking for a Car Claims Advocate to help our customers navigate one of the most stressful moments they'll face — an injury claim — and come out the other side feeling genuinely supported. You'll join our Claims team, bringing sharp investigative instincts and real empathy to every file you touch, moving cases forward with speed and care in equal measure.
We believe three things matter for every role at Lemonade: drive to push through challenges, efficiency that keeps standards high while moving fast, and adaptability that lets you pivot with data and AI insights. These aren't buzzwords, they're how we actually work.
Our AI-first approach isn't just a tagline either. We're building the future of insurance with AI at the center, and we need people who are genuinely excited to learn and grow alongside these tools.
In this role you'll
Investigate and process injury claims end-to-end, in line with company policy and applicable state or federal law
Gather and evaluate police reports, medical records, and witness statements to build a clear picture of each loss
Interview claimants, witnesses, medical providers, and other parties to determine liability and claim legitimacy
Determine claim value and negotiate settlements that are fair, defensible, and timely
Keep detailed, accurate records of all claim activity throughout the lifecycle of each file
Collaborate with legal counsel and cross-functional teams when cases require it
Communicate claim status and decisions to all relevant parties — clearly, professionally, and with genuine empathy
What you'll need
3+ years of property damage or injury liability claim-handling experience
A background handling litigated and attorney-represented files — a strong advantage
Solid working knowledge of insurance laws and regulations
Strong analytical thinking and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure
Clear, confident written and verbal communication — no jargon, just plain English
Comfortable working independently and collaboratively depending on what the file needs
Proficiency with claims management software and Microsoft Office
A college degree
Lemonade expects all advocates to hold and maintain a license in good standing — if you don't have one yet, we'll work with you to get licensed within your first three months
Ability to work in a remote environment
*Please note that we are unable to sponsor applicants for work visas.
