  • Equity & Stock-Based Compensation: Own the accounting for stock options, SAFEs, convertible notes, and preferred stock, coordinating with legal on cap table changes and ensuring proper disclosure.
  • Month-End Close: Own and continuously improve the month-end close process, ensuring speed, accuracy, and consistency while identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency.
  • Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash position, burn rate, runway, accounts receivable, and accounts payable while proactively identifying financial risks and opportunities.
  • Compliance & Controls: Own financial compliance, audits, tax filings, and internal controls while supporting legal, HR, insurance, and other administrative functions that keep the company operating efficiently.
  • Vendor & Contractor Compliance: Manage vendor onboarding, W-9 collection, 1099 filing, and payment oversight to ensure the company meets all third-party reporting obligations.
  • Financial Reporting: Lead the preparation, review, and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring timely, accurate reporting and actionable insights for leadership.

🚀 You’ll be successful in this role if you…

  • Have 4+ years of accounting or finance experience ideally in a Controller or Accounting Manager capacity.
  • Have deep knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, month-end close processes, and internal controls.
  • Have experience owning annual audits and partnering with external auditors and tax advisors.
  • Actively leverage AI to streamline financial operations, accelerate analysis, and eliminate repetitive manual work.
  • Are highly detail-oriented while maintaining the ability to think strategically and prioritize what matters most.
  • Can identify operational inefficiencies and build scalable financial processes that support company growth.
  • Thrive in fast-paced environments where you’re expected to both build systems and execute day-to-day work.
  • Have exceptional analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Hold a CPA designation.

⭐ Bonus points

  • Experience working at a venture-backed startup.
  • Experience with healthcare, insurance, employee benefits, or regulated industries.
  • Experience with board reporting, or financial due diligence.
  • Have experience in building financial models, budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses that inform business decisions.
  • Experience partnering directly with executives and translating financial data into clear, actionable business insights.

This is an early-stage company with real momentum and proven product-market fit, looking for someone who's excited to build something transformative from the ground up. If you thrive in fast-paced environments and want to own and shape a finance function as it scales, we'd love to meet you.
