Job Description
About Firstwork
Labour markets are broken. Millions of people are ready to work and can't start. Screening, right-to-work checks, contracts, onboarding and scheduling still run across disconnected systems, with hundreds of manual decisions in between. Firstwork builds AI agents that run frontline workforce operations end to end. We activate hundreds of thousands of workers a month globally for some of the world's largest employers and staffing firms, working forward-deployed inside the customer's operation. Backed by Y Combinator and Gradient (Google’s AI fund), with offices in New York, with London and Dubai opening later this year.
Why this role
Our buyers run large frontline workforces. Most of them have been sold AI once already, by someone whose product fell over the moment it met their compliance requirements. They are polite about it and they are deeply sceptical.
Which makes this a credibility problem first and an awareness problem second. Volume does nothing to this audience. Precision does. A report they can't get anywhere else. A customer story from a peer whose opinion they respect. A dinner with eight people who all have the same problem. A founder saying something specific in public rather than something safe.
You are the first marketing leader at Firstwork. The remit is global and Europe is the target market. You set the positioning, build the function, and hire against it. Research and Editorial produce the original work. Sales will tell you within a week whether any of it landed.
What you'll do
-
Positioning, messaging, brand and design direction
-
Product marketing and launches
-
Demand generation, with a pipeline number attached to it
-
Executive marketing, meaning curated dinners, roundtables and the industry events worth showing up to
-
Website, customer stories and references
-
Research and report launches, run with Research and Editorial
-
Social, including the CEO's LinkedIn, the company channels and the voice we take in public
-
The publishing calendar, and distribution across every channel we have
-
Analyst relations
-
Hiring the marketing team, starting with a Programs and Events Manager
What we're looking for
-
Six or more years in B2B marketing, including a stretch at an early-stage company where you did the work yourself
-
Experience marketing something technical to an enterprise buyer who is not technical
-
Strong writing. We will test it, and it isn't a thing we compromise on
-
Taste in design, and enough confidence to hold the standard when someone pushes back
-
Fluency with current AI marketing tools and workflows. We will ask about your stack, and the bar is that none of it shows in the output
-
The ability to run an event senior people actually turn up to
-
Comfort with being measured on pipeline
If you have been waiting to build a marketing function from the first sentence onwards, write to us.
