Job Description
About Finta
Finta is building the finance platform startups should have had from day one.
Today, startup finance is fragmented. Bookkeeping lives in one place, taxes in another, reporting in spreadsheets, forecasting in someone’s head, and founders are left trying to piece together what is actually happening in the business.
We want Finta to become the go-to solution for the entire finance function: accounting, taxes, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and real-time insights, all in one place.
We raised $2M from Y Combinator, Mercury’s CEO, and leaders at Mercury, Brex, and Ramp. Since launching in 2023, we have grown organically through word of mouth and now serve hundreds of paying customers.
We are a small, high-caliber team with a bias for shipping. There are no layers here. You’ll work directly with Andy, the founder, and get close to customers, product, positioning, and GTM.
This is a founding role where the scope can expand quickly if you earn trust. We work together in person 5 days a week in San Francisco, near the Ferry Building, and expect people to take ownership without needing a lot of structure.
About the role
We’re hiring a GTM Lead (Events & Partnerships) to build Finta’s presence inside the YC founder community.
This is not a generic growth role. You will not be running paid ads, SEO, lifecycle campaigns, or broad demand gen.
The core motion is simple: get the right YC founders in the room, create a great experience, build trust, and turn those relationships into customers, referrals, content, and long-term distribution.
You’ll own the full loop:
- Host events for YC founders
- Take YC founders out to dinner
- Send targeted outbound emails to YC founders
- Partner with companies like Brex, Ramp, Mercury, Stripe, Rippling, Rho, Slash and others to co-host events
- Turn founder conversations into pipeline, content, referrals, and product feedback
What you’ll do
- Host high-quality events for YC founders, including dinners, roundtables, office hours, happy hours, and tactical finance sessions
- Build targeted invite lists based on batch, stage, company type, funding status, and finance needs
- Write outbound emails that founders actually reply to
- Partner with startup ecosystem companies to co-host founder events
- Own event execution end to end: concept, guest list, venue, invites, reminders, run of show, experience, and follow-up
- Build real relationships with founders, not transactional lead-gen funnels
- Turn founder conversations into useful content, including event recaps, finance guides, social posts, partner content, and customer stories
- Track what matters: invites, replies, RSVPs, attendance, meetings booked, pipeline created, customers closed, and referrals generated
- Bring founder feedback back into product, positioning, and sales
- Build the playbook for how Finta grows through the startup ecosystem
You’ll be a good fit if you
- Have experience in founder-facing GTM, events, partnerships, community, VC/platform, startup sales, or early-stage marketing
- Love being around startup founders and can quickly build trust in a room
- Can host a dinner, run a room, and make people feel like the event was worth their time
- Are excellent at written outreach
- Can write emails that feel personal, sharp, and not spammy
- Are commercial. You understand events should create trust, pipeline, customers, and referrals
- Are highly organized and can manage a lot of small details without dropping the ball
- Have taste. You care about venue, guest mix, conversation quality, timing, follow-up, and how Finta is perceived
- Can work independently in an ambiguous, early-stage environment
- Are excited to become deeply credible on startup finance, accounting, taxes, reporting, and forecasting
- Use AI tools to move faster, research better, personalize outreach, and run a tighter system
You should not join Finta if
- You want to run paid ads, SEO, lifecycle marketing, or generic demand gen
- You want a role that is mostly strategy and not hands-on execution
- You think events are just logistics, catering, and check-in lists
- You dislike outbound
- You are uncomfortable being in person with founders regularly
- You need a large team, big budget, or clear playbook to operate
- You are not excited about startups, YC, or founder communities
- You optimize for motion instead of progress
Why join
- Own one of Finta’s most important GTM motions from the beginning
- Work directly with the founder
- Help make Finta the go-to finance solution for startups
- Build relationships across YC, founders, VCs, and top startup ecosystem partners
- Own events, partnerships, content, and founder distribution
- Join a small team with strong organic growth, hundreds of paying customers, and top-tier investors
Compensation and benefits
- Competitive salary plus meaningful equity: $120k-160k + 1% equity + bonus
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance
- Meals, gym membership, and professional education benefits
- Monthly team events and annual company offsite
- Visa sponsorship and relocation support available
Important
In addition to applying, please email Andy with:
- One event, community, or founder-facing GTM project you are proud of
- A short plan for how you would get 30 YC founders to show up to a Finta dinner
