Job Description
Educato is building an AI-powered learning platform that helps students prepare for high-stakes exams through personalized learning plans, practice, mock exams, and AI tutoring.
We are hiring a full-time, product-minded Full Stack Software Engineer to ship meaningful features from idea to production. You will work across our Vue/Nuxt and TypeScript frontend, Supabase/Postgres backend, and AI-powered product workflows.
What you’ll own
• Build and ship end-to-end product features used by learners around the world.
• Turn ambiguous user problems into simple, reliable product experiences.
• Develop AI-assisted learning and internal automation features, including the evaluation and improvement loops that make them trustworthy.
• Improve performance, observability, security, testing, and maintainability as the product scales.
• Participate in product decisions, technical design, code review, and documentation.
What we’re looking for
• At least one year of professional software engineering experience, or unusually strong evidence of equivalent production work.
• Strong TypeScript and modern frontend fundamentals. Vue or Nuxt experience is ideal; strong React experience is welcome if you can learn Vue quickly.
• Practical backend experience with APIs, SQL, Postgres, authentication, and data modeling.
• Evidence that you have owned and shipped real features, not only completed isolated tickets.
• Clear written communication, sound product judgment, and comfort working independently in an async team.
• Curiosity about applied AI. Experience shipping LLM features, evaluations, agents, or education products is a plus.
Why Educato
You will join a small YC-backed team early enough to shape both the product and the engineering culture. Your work will directly help students reach career-changing goals. You will have real ownership, short feedback loops, and the freedom to improve how we build.
This is a worldwide remote role. You should be able to overlap for at least four working hours with the European workday.
Interview Process
Our interview process is practical, transparent, and designed to finish in about ten days.
1. Application review: we review your experience, portfolio, GitHub profile, or examples of products and features you have shipped.
2. Introductory conversation: a 30-minute call about Educato, the role, your goals, and the kind of work in which you perform best.
3. Practical technical step: a focused 60–90 minute exercise or collaborative coding session based on a realistic product problem. We do not use trick puzzles or ask for a large unpaid take-home project.
4. Technical and product discussion: a 60-minute conversation with the team covering your decisions, tradeoffs, testing approach, data model, and how you would take the work to production.
5. Final conversation: a 30-minute discussion with a founder or teammate about ownership, communication, mission alignment, availability, and working remotely across time zones.
We will explain each step in advance, leave time for your questions, and share next steps promptly. References may be requested only near the offer stage.
