Founding Engineer - Full Stack (Remote / Hybrid / San Francisco)
Job Description
Founding Engineer, Full-Stack
Location: San Francisco, Remote / Hybrid
Type: Full-Time
About Dimely
Companies spend hundreds of billions of dollars every year on finance systems, yet revenue workflows are still held together by spreadsheets, emails, screenshots, and manual review.
Dimely is fixing that.
Dimely (YC S24) is building the AI spreadsheet for finance teams, starting with contract-to-cash automation across NetSuite, Salesforce, QuickBooks, Stripe, and the spreadsheets teams already live in.
We started Dimely after seeing how much of finance and accounting still runs on manual review between contracts, spreadsheets, CRMs, billing tools, and ERPs. The tools are expensive, but the work between them is still messy, brittle, and painful.
Scaling companies like Checkr and Airbyte use Dimely to extract key terms from customer documents, validate them against business rules and source systems, catch discrepancies early, and sync clean data into finance systems. The result: faster invoicing, stronger AR tracking, better revenue visibility, and more reliable ASC 606 workflows.
We became profitable and are now investing aggressively to scale Dimely: expanding into more complex revenue workflows, deeper finance system integrations, and new customer segments.
We’re hiring a founding full-stack engineer to help define the core architecture behind Dimely: data pipelines, AI workflows, spreadsheet infrastructure, integrations, and the systems that make finance automation reliable at scale.
You’ll be our fourth hire. We’re looking for someone who wants the intensity and ownership of an early-stage team: someone who takes initiative, thinks deeply through ambiguous problems, adopts AI tools quickly, and ships real product for real customers.
What You’ll Own Early
In your first few months, you’ll work directly with the founders and customers to ship high-impact product across the stack. Depending on priorities, this could include improving our NetSuite and Salesforce sync infrastructure, building AI-powered reconciliation workflows, scaling our spreadsheet-like interface, or designing the systems that make contract-to-cash automation more reliable across customers.
This is not a narrow feature-ticket role. You’ll help make core technical decisions, set engineering standards, and shape how we build as the team grows.
What You’ll Do
- Own and ship core product features across the full stack, from backend systems to polished front-end experiences.
- Build the systems behind Dimely’s AI workflow engine, including extraction, validation, reconciliation, approvals, and sync logic.
- Develop spreadsheet-like interfaces that let finance teams review, edit, approve, and automate complex revenue workflows.
- Build and maintain deep integrations with platforms like Salesforce, NetSuite, QuickBooks, Stripe, Slack, Snowflake, and other enterprise systems.
- Design infrastructure for auditable, low-latency, high-integrity data workflows across documents, source systems, spreadsheets, and ERPs.
- Work directly with customers and founders to turn messy, real-world finance workflows into simple, durable product experiences.
- Use AI development tools like Cursor, Claude Code, and GitHub Copilot to move quickly while maintaining a high bar for quality.
- Operate with ownership, urgency, and strong judgment in a small, fast-moving team.
You Might Be a Fit If You
- Have strong full-stack engineering experience and can work comfortably across backend systems, front-end interfaces, data workflows, and integrations.
- Are fluent in TypeScript, Next.js, React, and modern backend patterns.
- Have experience building data-heavy products, workflow tools, internal tools, or spreadsheet-like interfaces.
- Have worked with APIs and SDKs for enterprise platforms such as Salesforce, NetSuite, QuickBooks, Stripe, Slack, Snowflake, or similar systems.
- Move quickly, take initiative, and do not need every problem fully scoped before you start making progress.
- Are excited to adopt AI development tools quickly and use them to increase your speed, judgment, and leverage.
- Can think through ambiguous problems from first principles and turn messy customer needs into simple, reliable systems.
- Care about correctness, auditability, edge cases, and building systems that users can trust.
- Are excited about applying AI to practical business workflows, especially in finance, accounting, RevOps, or the office of the CFO.
- Care about user experience and can build tools that feel intuitive to non-technical users.
- Are energized by being one of the first few people at a company where you’ll help shape the product, codebase, architecture, engineering culture, and company direction.
Why Join Us
- Be early: You’ll be our fourth hire and one of the first engineers shaping the company.
- Own the architecture: You’ll help define the core systems behind Dimely, from data pipelines and spreadsheet infrastructure to AI workflows and enterprise integrations.
- Real customer pull: Teams at companies like Checkr and Airbyte already use Dimely to solve painful revenue workflows.
- Massive market: Enterprises spend hundreds of billions of dollars on finance systems, but the work between contracts, spreadsheets, and ERPs is still deeply manual.
- AI with practical impact: We use AI to extract contract terms, catch discrepancies, automate reviews, and help finance teams move faster with more confidence.
- Small, strong team: You’ll work with Peter, Waterloo / ex-Facebook, David, Wharton / ex-Silver Lake, and Bruce, ex-Qualtrics.
- Meaningful equity: It’s early, high-impact, and the upside is real.
