Full Stack Engineer

COMPANY OVERVIEW

Craftwork is building a modern, technology-enabled home services company, starting with residential painting. We employ our painters full-time and manage the entire customer experience using proprietary software, which allows us to consistently deliver excellent quality and service while creating meaningful careers in the trades.

Founded in 2023, Craftwork currently operates in Charlotte and Raleigh, with plans to expand into three new markets over the next 12 months. We’ve grown to nearly 80 employees and have raised over $25M from investors including Y Combinator, Seven Seven Six, Slow Ventures, Forerunner Ventures, General Catalyst, and Lachy Groom.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Craftwork is looking for a Full Stack Engineer to help build the software platform that powers our next stage of growth.

Our software sits at the center of nearly every part of the business, from sales and customer communication to estimating, scheduling, field operations, and automation. As we expand into new markets, this person will help us build the products and infrastructure required to make those operations increasingly reliable, intelligent, and scalable.

A central part of this role will be building modern full-stack applications across our web and backend systems. The right person will bring deep experience with TypeScript, React, Next.js, ShadCN UI, and Node.js, and is comfortable both designing thoughtful product experiences, as well as the APIs, services and underlying systems that support them. Familiarity with Open Router, Drizzle ORM, BullMQ, Expo / React-Native, Twilio, Stripe, and Resend is also a plus. 

This is a hands-on, high-ownership engineering role. You’ll work closely with Product, Design, Operations, and our customers to understand real business problems, shape solutions, and own features from initial discovery through deployment and iteration. The goal is not simply to write code, but to deeply understand and take ownership of the problems we’re solving and build thoughtful, reliable software that makes Craftwork better every day.
