Job Description
About Coris
Coris is the AI-first risk intelligence platform for the payments industry. Payments platforms, ISOs, and sponsor banks use Coris across underwriting, fraud detection, transaction monitoring, and operations. We sit at the intersection of fintech infrastructure and applied AI, two of the fastest-moving categories in the market.
Coris was born from experience. After two decades leading risk organizations in payments, our Co-Founder/CEO watched underwriting and monitoring run on antiquated systems that held fintechs back, and started Coris to build the infrastructure he wished he had.
The Opportunity
You will be the right hand to our Co-Founder/CEO, who brings two decades of payments and risk experience to Coris. On day one, you will own the Business Operations function, including finance, growth metrics, and board preparation, and build well beyond it.
Our CEO spends his time where it counts most: customers, partners, and investors. Your mandate is to run the internal engine and extend his reach. You will sit in board meetings, fundraising conversations, and key customer negotiations, and you will be expected to have a point of view.
This is an AI-first role at an AI-first company. We expect you to run every function you own with AI at the core, producing the output of a much larger team.
Your Mandate
Finance, metrics, and the board: Own the operating dashboard (ARR, pipeline, retention, burn). Build board decks, investor updates, and financial models that hold up to scrutiny.
Marketing, until we hire a Growth lead: Own product marketing, field marketing, and growth: positioning, launches, events, and pipeline-generating campaigns. Treat it as a GM assignment, not a placeholder.
Company operations and talent: Run the operating cadence: leadership meetings, goals, all-hands, and decision follow-through. Drive recruiting for priority roles from pipeline to close.
Strategic projects and partnerships: Quarterback initiatives that cut across product, sales, and compliance. Recent and upcoming examples: our merchant risk data-sharing consortium, our Stripe App Marketplace launch, and our annual State of Merchant Risk industry report. Support partnership work with banks and card networks, and deliver crisp analysis on competition, pricing, and new markets.
AI leverage: Build AI into every workflow you touch: research, models, decks, campaigns, and operations. Set the standard for how the whole company works with AI.
The unowned and the urgent: Every week surfaces something that matters and has no owner. You find it, frame it, and finish it.
Success in Your First 90 Days
30 days: You have absorbed the Business Operations function, own the company operating dashboard, and run the cadence of our weekly leadership meetings.
60 days: You have automated our monthly financial and metrics reporting with AI, delivered your first board-ready materials, and shipped your first marketing campaign.
90 days: You own board prep end to end, support marketing and GTM ops on your own, and at least one AI workflow you built is used by the whole company.
Who You Are
• ~2-4 years at MBB, a top VC, or an equivalent high-bar analytical environment
• AI-native: AI tools are your default for drafting, analysis, and automation, and you constantly push what they can do (required, not preferred)
• You produce partner-ready work on startup timelines
• Financially fluent: models, unit economics, and investor-grade materials come naturally
• A closer: you chase every loop until it is shut
• High ownership, low ego: as comfortable setting strategy as fixing a broken process
• Sound judgment with sensitive company, customer, and personnel information
• Genuinely curious about payments, risk, and AI; you will build domain depth fast
• In-person in Palo Alto
Why This Role Wins
• Direct apprenticeship with a CEO who has led organizations at scale in payments
• Real ownership of company-critical functions within your first month, not a note-taking role
• A proven launchpad: Chiefs of Staff at companies like ours become GMs, operators, and founders
• Competitive salary, meaningful equity, and benefits
Compensation
Base salary: $120,000 to $150,000, plus meaningful equity, benefits and 401K offering. Final compensation depends on experience and demonstrated skills.
